Marco tiredly walked down the mountain, stumbling several times causing his fresh wounds to open up. 

He had made it...

He had survived twice to tell the tale. If he were still in wartime he would be called a hero. But more than a hero now he felt like the coward his sister had described.

So cowardly that he did not dare to kill or even try to attack the vampire that killed his sister, even with her body in front of him. Even the vampire who killed her stayed and drank her blood, ignoring the danger around him.

He could kill him. 

He could avenge his sister!

Why did I run away? Why? Why?' Marco blamed himself severely, even though he was still running away. His body still did not hesitate to keep running. He wanted to go on living even if he was treated like an animal and not like a human. 

If he had to crawl like a rat he would crawl like the cowardly man he is today.
