50% Slaves of Blood / Chapter 32: Changes Part 3

章節 32: Changes Part 3

Valery followed the chains the more she moved, the smaller the chains became.

But no matter how thin the chains became, they were still so heavy and extra heavy that Valery did not want to go near them, nor could she imagine who or what was bound with these chains.

But she didn't want to be tied to these chains either, the very thought made her shudder.

On her way she looked more at her surroundings, ignoring the fog that surrounded her and the chains, the place she was in was very strange. She did not know where these chains came from, but many of them came from places as strange as the ground and the sky, some came from as far away as the distance.

They all came from the same place, and not to mention that from the beginning when she first encountered the chains they were as big as her and now they were as thin as her own arm.

She continued walking lost in the fog with only one destination, in search of answers.

Katerin, sitting in her room, had wounds on her arms and face. Her previously clean body was full of her own blood, but they were minor wounds that would not endanger her life.

She remembered her moment of madness, it was like being conscious and unconscious at the same time. Even if it was vague, she remembered her death wish.

Her strength was not depleted and unconsciously she continued to constantly hurt herself. At the same time that she felt full of energy she felt a tiredness but this tiredness was confusing, it was a terrifying feeling that she could not describe.

Forcing herself constantly, trying to remove the steel plate, which is heavier than that of others, to avoid even so her body struggled steadily. She sought any means to self-inflict harm.

More than bloodlust, she felt that she was trying to commit suicide.

But that was impossible, because after years of research by the vampires, they concluded that it was the increased appetite resulting from her new abilities created by the adults.

Katerin checked her already closed wounds and to kill some time she sewed her clothes with a thread and cloth she brought with her.

Some blood frenzies took longer than others, for safety reasons they were asked to stay inside the security chambers until the March moon was over. For the same reason each room had a functional clock on the wall.

At the end of the day, Katerin left along with many other students who also left at the same time as her, but there were still rooms that were kept locked.

Vampires who were still in the midst of their blood frenzy, next to her was Stelle who had a more emaculate appearance than herself.

On her other side...

Valery hasn't come out yet...

But she immediately ignored what was going on in her room, only paying attention to the fact that she hadn't come out. Her concern increased, but it did not grow sufficiently, for her own feelings that it was normal for her to be late.

Not everyone goes out immediately and it doesn't have to be a golden rule to follow, which explains why only about 50 students have gone out at this time.

There were about 150 students still in the security rooms.

"Are we going to eat?" asked Katerin as she looked at Stelle.

She looked at her and thought for a while, before agreeing to Katerin's proposal.

"All right, come with me to Valery's room.... I also have to check on Victor."

Valery had asked her as a favor that if she went out before her, to help her feed Victor since he doesn't eat alone.

In the darkness of incoherence, in the darkness of incoherence.

Created by his lack of will, by his surrender to resist and continue his life. He doesn't want to move or breathe, but he can't help it, because he fears death.

Even though for him it is inevitable, it is a destiny that although cruel and terrifying for many, for others it is a glorious and satisfactory destiny.

A long awaited rest.

Humanity would not be the same without the meaning that death gives them, an end to their life. It creates values that not many could have.

The love of a new life, the care for that new life, finding beauty in the end and in the nature of the present existence.

His world was dark and deaf, there was no voice but he was a boy looking behind a glass, that glass was his eyes. Even if he didn't want to, he was looking through that glass, but there was no reaction for him.

Deaf, but sometimes the sound came like an echo in the walls of his concinct.

A spectator who one day began to pay attention to his surroundings.

"Victor, that's a nice name. You know, I knew a doctor named Victor a long time ago. I haven't seen him in a long time, but..."

His voice was like an echo that touched her soul, soft and cheerful, full of energy... energy that then faded away.

He listened to her, sometimes not paying any attention to her at all. But her constant insistence was strange. It bothered him more than once...

"Why don't you leave me alone'" he said aloud in his conscience.

Without noticing, he no longer turned his face away from the window, and stared at her. Admiring her face and her expressions. Without realizing it, the opaque glass became clear enough for him to see her.

"A vampire?" he whispered with a bit of dismay and disillusionment, but still he did not stop looking at her.

Her voice echoed constantly in his head, her stories, the things she did, her worries. In time he understood why her energy was extinguished, why that energy and excitement was extinguished.

The death of her parents, the danger of the academy, the new face of her friend Stelle, the abandonment of her friend Maria. The constant conflict between the students.

He is human, even if he doesn't like vampires, because of the things that made him and his family suffer.

"Is this Stockholm Syndrome?" he thought, realizing that he didn't want her to feel so overwhelmed and so bad, he wanted to see her happy like the first days he saw her.

But he also admired her, he saw how even with all that weight she matured in a drastic way, he saw how she created a lock to guard him and the thing she was hiding. He saw how she became more cautious, how she handled information from the cademy and how she constantly tried to recruit allies for herself.

He also saw how she disliked being in an inferior position, noting that she did not realize this herself. He understood that she had not realized this until now because of the affection she still had for her friend, Stelle.

"Valery..." he whispered her name.
