Charlotte got closer and that was when she caught on some of the things they were talking about.

"She has been granted permission to stay home till she feels better before she resumes. We are deeply sorry for this mishap. We promise to improve upon the security of the school." Charlotte heard one of the men say.

"You better do." Derek tersly replied before the men gave him a gentle bow and left.

The men had their backs facing Charlotte, so she couldn't see their faces to make out who they were. She walked towards Derek who was making his way back into the building. It seems he had not noticed her yet.
