章節 1: Ch 1 : Introduction
Atagaris, an Assyrian goddess, who accidentally killed her mortal lover Hadad. Distraught, she threw herself into a lake, but the gods saved her and turned her into a mermaid. As the gods there would not allow her to give up her great beauty, only her bottom half became a fish, and she kept her top half in human form.
Since several centuries , apperance of mermaids has been reported by sailors. They says, mermaids are beautiful creatures but do not get fooled by their appearance, or else it will bring your demise. According to them, mermaids represent both good fortune and disaster. The mermaid's conflicting personalities as both a beautiful and seductive maiden and a monstrous sea creature that dragged sailors to their deaths. But not all are bad, some of them have a good heart too.
They think that mermaids sink the ships for food, as they devour human flesh. But let me tell you a secret. They do it just for self amusement. Just like the nobles hunt on innocent animals and enjoy pleasure like a sadist. Mermaid's appearance reflects there inner quest.
There has also been some reports about birds who have head like a human. They call it "Siren".
According to legends, Sirens are daughters of the river god Achelous and a Muse, they were fated to die if anyone should survive their singing. When Odysseus passed them by unharmed, they hurled themselves into the sea and were drowned.
And if you think they are extinct now, you are completely wrong. Sirens are supposed to die if someone survives there musical. That day when they got defeated by Odysseus, they drowned into the sea awaiting there death when Poseidon saved there life. He liked there music very much, and to protect it he made a decission. He combined Sirens with mermaids. The Sirens that are alive now are all in the form of mermaids with more musical ability.
Siren with her music can heal, manipulate, kill and many more other things. Not to mention, Siren can transform into a human.
Now you may be thinking right now, I, Elysia de Ros, daughter of a mere Baron know these things.
Well... Let me tell you another secret.
I am actually a Siren .
No, I am not Baron de Ros's biological child. He is such a bastard, a total womanizer! But his wife is a good lady. Alas! She never conceived a baby. That's why when I turned fifteen ( Sirens can only come to land once they turn fifteen) and needed to become a noble, I manipulated that baron to make me his adopted daughter.
It's been a month I came to land and became Elysia de Ros. Now my first target is to join high society and for that I need to do my debut.
" Lisa, inform my dear father, I am going to Countess d'Esneux's party. "
Just wait and watch you five filthy bastards. I won't rest till I see the death of you pupil.
