The fire crackled loudly through the quiet area, throwing shadows across the trees. Theo tried hard not to let the movements inspire his paranoia, but it didn’t work as well as he had hoped. He was beginning to regret the decision to allow Harmon to talk him into leaving before Neivayka had woken, so she couldn’t stop him.
