章節 5: Chapter 5: Drop of Angel Blood

EXTRA CHAPTER: from your new favourite author, or at least soon-to-be.

The seraph blade in my hands held the weight of potential, a tangible symbol of the supernatural arsenal I now possessed. Its cool metal reassured me, promising strength in the face of the unknown.

Beside it, the stele awaited my command, a conduit for the intricate symbols that could shape my destiny.

As I navigated the alleys of the Shadow Market, my thoughts echoed with anticipation for the runes I yearned to draw. Each symbol carried ancient meaning, a legacy from the memories that resided within the back of this body's mind.

The Healing Rune—a lifeline woven into the fabric of my existence. The Fearless Rune—an unyielding shield against the shadows. The Tracking Rune—a compass guiding me through uncertainty.

Yet, the luxury of time eluded me amid the chaotic vibrancy of the market. The throngs of supernatural beings, the eclectic assortment of wares, and the constant hum of whispered secrets formed a symphony of the otherworldly.

My glowing eyes scanned the surroundings, seeking a moment of respite to draw some runes on my skin.

But as I was looking around, I suddenly glanced at a small stone on a seemingly inconspicuous stand, my blood seemed to boil in response.

The drop of pure angel blood within it resonated with the celestial essence within me, creating a connection that transcended the mundane.

"This is more than just a stone," I spoke to myself, my voice mingling with the ambient sounds of the market. "It carries the essence of my celestial ancestry—a lineage seeking purity amidst the shadows."

With this realization, I realized the unique abilities of my blood. More pure angel blood flowed through my veins than the average Shadowhunter.

While not a lot, it bestowed upon me certain benefits—such as a keener eyesight, slightly higher strength than the average, and an increased sensitivity to the supernatural realm.

I approached the stand and as I negotiated the price of the stone with the oblivious vendor, I contemplated the potential that lay within it.

The vendor, a cranky old woman with a penchant for discovering treasures yet oblivious to their true worth, regarded Elijah with suspicion. Unaware of the stone's significance, she quoted a price that seemed laughable for an item of such rarity.

Leaving the Shadow Market, the serenity of the quiet streets greeted me. The stone in my pocket pulsed with an otherworldly energy, resonating with the runes on my body.

With every step, I could sense the intricate threads of fate weaving around me, responding to the celestial presence within.

"Every rune that I inscribe," I spoke softly to the night, "is a step towards unlocking the true potential of this celestial blood."

As I continued my journey through the supernatural tapestry that intertwined with the mundane, the city's heartbeat echoed in the background. The seraph blade at my side, the stele in my grasp, and the celestial stone cradled in my pocket, Elijah Everlight walked the city streets.

...…

The city lights blinked as I strolled through New York's streets, thinking about my next moves. The stone in my pocket pulsed, hinting at hidden powers. At nightfall, I decided to find a place to stay, a spot to uncover the runes in my memory.

A nearby hotel sign flickered, offering a break from the night's journey. The room was simple, a place to delve into the runes etched in my mind.

The Healing Rune promised faster recovery, the Fearless Rune guarded against fear, and the Tracking Rune acted as an instinctual guide.

In the dim light of the room, I unfolded the mysteries of each rune. The symbols weren't just practical; they echoed the celestial blood in my veins. With the seraph blade and stele, I started inscribing the runes on my skin.

The celestial stone in my pocket resonated with each stroke. It hinted at enhanced abilities, a piece of pure angel blood guiding me toward a destiny tied to the supernatural.

Contemplating the runes made me realize the need to purify my blood further. I want to absorb the essence of the blood within the stone, to unlock my lineage's secrets.

But first I'd have to retrieve this body's entire memory and the perfect place for that is.

The city of bones, a sacred place for Shadowhunters, called to me. There, among silent tombs, I could explore the past and find the memories that eluded me.

As the night passed, the hotel room became a haven—the seraph blade and stele by my side, the stone pulsed with guidance. The runes on my skin testified to the celestial blood within. The city's heartbeat outside became a mix of the ordinary and supernatural.

With the dawn, my journey led to the next step—the city of bones. There, among forgotten truths, I sought strength as a seeker of runes embarking on a quest into the heart of the night.
