Her brother sounded exhausted and Aviana knew that this was a rare situation.

Austin rarely lost his composure no matter what the situation was and this might be the trait shared by the Valos siblings.

Was it the effect of their upbringing? They both were great at holding back.

"I'm sorry," Aviana Valos muttered to her brother who was very quiet now. However, when she was about to continue, her brother beat her at that.

"Do you still remember what I said when we talked on the phone?" Austin rhetorically asked and continued, "I told you that I'm mature enough to protect you now."

"Auz -"

"Be patient for just a while more," Austin Valos interrupted. "I said that I will do everything for you to get to live the way you want. I will keep that promise."
