章節 3: Chapter 3

Princess Elsa, the Lady of the House, sits and watches her maid from her window every day as the teacher teaches her, ignoring his words.

"Ms Canterbury, are you with me?" scolded the teacher, slamming the desk. "Tsk, Sir, I'm sorry for getting distracted," the lady replied.

The lady of Canterbury, the daughter of the Duke and Duchess of Canterbury, is a fourteen-year-old girl who has accomplished a great deal thanks to her mother, the Duchess.

Though a renowned lady, she despises being a noble and wishes to be a commoner like her grandmother in her past, but she is unable to do so because she would lose the title of the Canterbury family as she was next in line.

Lady Elsa would envy the children outside and was mostly distracted by the maids her age who she wanted to connect with, but the maids were afraid of the lady because the duchess would punish them, making Elsa lonely. But when Mary Ann was assigned, she was taken aback by the beauty of the girl and wanted to talk to her all the time. However, Mary Ann, in accordance with the house rules, kept a safe distance from the lady, causing the lady to try her hardest to woo the maid and become friends with her. But the day of the festival was magical; as soon as the lady saw Mary Ann's face, she was in love with her.

Returning to the present, she wonders what she should do. She had never been more nervous in her life. The sweat dripping down her spine is not due to the heat.

She couldn't hear anything coming from the entrance as she waited for Mary Ann to arrive for her tea. Mary's shift in the hall should have ended about an hour ago. Lady Elsa wanted to speak to her as she approached, but she couldn't because she was nervous, and Mary left. She blushed and went to sleep.

" Why can't I confess"

She wanted to express herself but couldn't. Suddenly, she recalls how lovers used to write letters to loved ones. I'm getting the picture. She wrote in her best handwriting everything she wanted to say to Mary Ann in the most sincere way she could.

She was wrapped in feelings, wrapped in a white envelopment like that girl's pure heart. Using a stag emblem as the seal, representing what she means to Mary and preventing anyone else from reading it.

The opening of Mary echoed throughout the empty entrance. She pretended to read a book while sitting on the balcony bench.

Everything fell silent after Mary Ann sat down to drink her tea, her mind filled with memories of the first time she met her. Mary Ann remembers it like it was yesterday when she suddenly jumped right in front of my eyes, and from that moment on, her existence had grown large inside my heart. She took some time to understand Mary Ann, who resembled a porcelain doll, making the lady blush.

According to the butler of the house, Mary Ann had to travel from the countryside to the capital and deliver the letter to the residence recommended by one of the lady's great grandmothers who adored her. Until she lost her, causing the lady to be upset. She had no friends among the nobles; she had a few people with whom she could get along, but no one she considered a friend. It couldn't be avoided.

She was worried because she was alone in an unfamiliar place with no friends, and the thought of what could happen to someone like her here made her nervous. Her mother forced her to connect with ladies and attend parties in order to find a suitor for herself, but in the end, things worked out as they always did. Despite her best efforts, she was able to enter one of the circles of girls and spend most of her break times noisily chatting with them.

Those times didn't last long because the girls she used to talk with ended up gossiping about her. She felt bad and decided to stop meeting new people. She was completely lost until she heard a voice. She sat her room painting some random thing to soothe her mind, suddenly...

"My Lady, what a wonderful painting"

It was the maid Mary Ann. She recognized the lady's painting. The painting was not particularly good, but Mary tried to cheer up her lady in any way she could.

"Ah... Thank you," the lady said.

Mary Ann turned to her, admiring the painting, and asked, "Would you like to paint me?"

"You?"

"I'm sorry to bother you, my Lady, but I only need a portrait to send to my sick mother," Mary pleaded.

"I shall do sketch a portrait of you," the princess laughed, seeing her puppy-like eyes.

She tried to figure out how to understand her maid while sketching her. For some reason, she couldn't take her gaze away from Mary Ann, who appeared to be a goddess in front of her. She got chills every time she drew her face as she drew it. The maid thanked her for the sketch, even though it doesn't look like Mary Ann 70 percent of the time. Mary Ann, on the other hand, did not say anything but thanked her "My lady, this is the best sketch I've ever seen; my mother would be overjoyed. Thank you very much "Mary Ann stated

She was staring at her with her eyes wide open. Mary was adorable. There was nothing else she could think of, which made me panic as she tried to erase the thought from her mind, but it clung to her mind and wouldn't leave.

"Thank you very much, My Lady." Lady Elsa's heart skipped a beat when she heard that simple word.

"Mary, uhmmm?" The lady was curious.

"You can call me Mary; everyone does," Mary Ann replied, smiling.

Elsa's heartbeat quickened, and she wondered what was wrong with her.

Her face flushed, and she didn't want her maid to see it, so she looked down and heard her excited voice.

"You're welcome to ask me at any time," Lady Elsa said with a smile.

Lady Elsa believes she had a gentle smile on her face. Her face is still flushed, so the lady can't raise her head; however, while she was thinking that, the image of Mary Ann's smiling face came to mind, and before she realized it, her eyes met with hers. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence, but the fact that she's still sitting next to me makes the young Princess happy.
