The short-haired, black-haired girl stood confidently with her hands on her hips, staring at the gates of Konoha, which were clearly much better than her rocky hometown of Iwagakure. A bright, provocative smile appeared on her face:
"Hahaha, you idiots of Konoha!"
"Your Queen Kurotsuchi has arrived!"
Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki, guarding the gates, immediately cast unfriendly glances at the girl.
"Ahaha, she's just a kid, please forgive her ignorance~~~"
Kurotsuchi's father, Kitsuchi, felt his scalp tingle as he saw his daughter behaving as if she were still in Iwagakure. He quickly pulled out the travel permit prepared for the Chūnin Exams and handed it over to the two guards with an apologetic smile.
Then, turning to his daughter, he said, "Kurotsuchi, shut up!"
Kurotsuchi pouted but didn't take her father's scolding to heart.
Izumo, with a cold expression, took the travel permit from Kitsuchi's hand, examined it carefully, and then let them pass.
"When you enter the village, accommodations will be arranged for you. Behave yourselves and try not to cause trouble."
"Of course, of course," Kitsuchi said, forcing a smile.
This visit to Konoha wasn't just about the Chūnin Exams for Iwagakure—it was also tied to the Earth Country's negotiations with the Fire Country over resource collaboration.
Losing in the Chūnin Exams might only damage their reputation, but failure in resource negotiations would jeopardize the livelihoods of many people in the Earth Country. This wasn't something Kitsuchi could afford to treat lightly.
Both the Tsuchikage, Ōnoki, and the Daimyō of the Earth Country had personally instructed him about the importance of this matter.
Even when dealing with the gate-guarding Chūnin, Kitsuchi didn't want to cause any unnecessary trouble.
After all, this wasn't just about bowing one's head under someone else's roof—they were seeking aid.
As the Iwagakure group entered Konoha, Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki soon welcomed another group of visitors.
"Hello, we're the team from Sunagakure participating in the Chūnin Exams. I am the Jōnin, Baki…"
Meanwhile, Kurotsuchi wandered around like a country bumpkin in a big city, marveling at everything she saw.
After all, Iwagakure was full of barren rocks and ravines. There wasn't much to see, and even a bit of greenery was considered precious.
Compared to Iwagakure, Konoha was far superior.
Kitsuchi had already taken the others to the accommodations arranged by Konoha, but Kurotsuchi couldn't resist her curiosity. She slipped away, dragging Akatsuchi and Kuroishi along with her.
"Kurotsuchi, wait for me~~~"
Akatsuchi hurried after her as she roamed around, excitedly exploring every nook and cranny.
Although he was equally fascinated by Konoha, Akatsuchi was better at controlling his impulses.
As for Kuroishi, he silently followed the other two like an invisible shadow.
"Akatsuchi, look at those dango—they look so tasty!"
"Quick, pay up!"
The black-haired girl's eyes lit up as she stared at the tri-colored dango displayed in a nearby shop.
Due to the recent food shortage in the Earth Country, prices for basic necessities had skyrocketed, including even simple snacks like dango.
While Kurotsuchi wasn't exactly lacking money, she still had to think twice before indulging in snacks.
Especially now, with Ōnoki constantly reminding her to set a good example as the Tsuchikage's granddaughter.
But with no one watching her in Konoha, she finally felt free!
"Alright, alright~"
Just as Akatsuchi was about to pay, a small figure suddenly dashed out from around the corner, colliding headfirst into his stomach and bouncing back onto the ground.
"Huh?"
"Are you okay?"
Unlike Kurotsuchi, Akatsuchi was kind-hearted and good-natured. He immediately crouched down to help the child who had fallen to the ground.
"Ouch, that hurt!"
"How dare you bump into me!"
"Do you even know who I, Konohamaru-sama, am?!"
The little boy, clutching his head, shouted angrily before even standing up, his words laced with hints of a threat.
Akatsuchi hesitated for a moment, sweat forming on his forehead.
It seemed like he'd gotten himself into a bit of trouble...
Still, despite his unease, he extended a hand to the self-proclaimed Konohamaru and helped him up. "I'm really sorry; I didn't mean to."
"Konohamaru, are you alright?"
At that moment, two children, a boy and a girl of similar age, ran out from the corner.
"Hey, you brat! It was you who bumped into Akatsuchi, so why are you acting all high and mighty?"
Seeing Akatsuchi being berated by a little kid, Kurotsuchi instantly became displeased.
"Huh?"
"Who are you people? You don't know the great Konohamaru's name?"
"My grandfather is the Hokage!"
Konohamaru crossed his arms and looked smugly at the unfamiliar strangers.
"Your grandfather is the Hokage? Well, my grandfather is the Tsuchikage!"
"You little brat!"
Kurotsuchi had no intention of letting him off easily. She stepped forward and retorted without hesitation.
"You tomboy! Nobody's ever going to want you!"
Realizing that his identity hadn't intimidated her, Konohamaru went straight for a "friendly" insult.
A vein bulged on Kurotsuchi's forehead as she stormed forward, grabbed Konohamaru by the collar, and glared at him menacingly.
"You little brat! Say that again if you dare!"
Konohamaru was about to back down, but then he spotted a familiar figure in the corner of his eye. His confidence instantly returned.
"Sakura Nee-chan!"
"Help! This tomboy is bullying me!"
Sakura, as Sarutobi Hiruzen's student, naturally had interactions with Konohamaru.
But she was no stranger to his mischievous behavior and didn't hesitate to discipline him when needed.
Konohamaru's loud voice was impossible to ignore, and Sakura turned her gaze toward the scene, her eye twitching slightly.
What was this?
A showdown between a flying dynamite and a cherry blossom?
