Ezra was only allowed to take four advanced spells. The academy couldn't just allow them to take whatever they wanted, as advanced spells were like treasures.

He didn't bother himself with shadow spells for now; he just focused on getting some advanced spells that would fit him.

From the test they had taken in class for advanced magic, his advanced magic affinities were as follows:

Mental magic: Telepathy, Mental magic: Illusions, Mental magic: Memory manipulation, Mental magic: Mind control.

He had four mental magic affinities, and so he could pick out a rank one spell for each of them.

Ezra searched for the first one, a spell on telepathy, and after a long while of going through the books, he found one that interested him.

He pulled out the book and read through it. It was a telepathy spell that allowed you to communicate with anyone within a hundred-meter radius.
