I am standing in front of the grave, my body is stiff and my hand is bent while reading the engraved letter on the tombstone :
Axienna Katalana F. Rienfuegos
Born : November 28, 1991
Died : February 19, 2008
It has been four years since they burried a dead body, which they thought was me. It's been four years since people thought I was dead. But they were all wrong, I was alive. Very alive.
I went to the Laguna and left my cousin Lorrine in my condo unit. For some unknown reason, someone planted a bomb in my yard. When the bomb exploded and Lorrine turned into ashes, they thought that I was the ashes. I was on a trip at that time and suddenly had an accident.
According to Keios Ruscho - the person who picked me up - he immediately took me to the hospital. But because my wounds were not attended to immediately, my condition worsened causing me to fall into a coma. Later on I was transferred to a secured private hospital. For three years only a feeding machine attached to my body kept me alive. My identity was also hidden for security purposes because of the people who tried to kill me.
When I woke up from the coma, I suffered from partial amnesia which is said to be one of the reasons for the prolonged comatose condition. I started physical rehabilitation and cognitive therapy immediately. Keios was happy with my physical recovery process. Case in point, I still barely remember anything. I can't remember my parents' names and faces. But there is one man who always enters my dreams. His face was blurred. . . always blurred.
DREAM
"Who are you and why are you always in my dream? And why is your face always so blurry?" I asked him, showing him some full confidence that I can face a blurred face man in my dream without showing any fear. If this is a nightmare and death intends to take me, let me know and bring me back my memories that were stolen by amnesia first.
He looked at me, full of sparks in his eyes. "Stay with me, Axienna Katalana Fadrid Rienfuegos. Let's forget our bad romance and create a new chapter of our love story," he mumbled then his eyes were begging for mercy. "Love me until the end, Ax. . ."
I shook my head while my eyes were closed, but when I opened my eyes he was gone. I don't know his face. I don't know his name. But I still remember his creepy words.
This fantasy dream will come into reality.
I heaved a frustrated sigh before leaving the cemetery. No matter how I look at the grave and felt guilty, I will never change the point that Lorrine died and was never visited by any relatives. I intended to go home but I passed a church. There was a wedding there and I found it so interesting.
I also dream of getting married. Marry someone who is worthy to be the husband and father of my future children. I want to live happily, married to a man who's worth my love. I went to church. I want to see some groom and bride promising each other in front of all the mighty. I peeked at the end of the church and saw a familiar face. Why is his face so familiar?
I watched the man intently. He's the groom. . . I stared at the groom again and again. I was trying to know who owns that familiar face. My eyes widened when I remembered who's the groom. Then, past memories were shown in my vision.
"James . . ." I whispered while my legs were trembling in disbelief. James De Leon was my boyfriend when I was at the age of 16. And when the happy memories between us were interrupted, he also disappeared from my arms.
And right now, after three years of being in a coma, eight months before my memory was back, two months of practicing how to walk again. Here I am, staring at my boyfriend who was the groom in the altar with my best friend who was his bride. I couldn't stop myself, I came to them while crying. Everyone's gaze landed on me. I look like a child who was lost in the wilderness.
"James," I called him when I got close because he was dumbfounded. And Amara, my best friend was in shock.
"Y-You're alive?!" James asked, shocked.
"W-What are you doing here, ghost! I thought you left this world almost like four years ago!" Amara exclaimed.
I looked at Amara's tummy. She's pregnant. . . "Congrats, sis. . . I'm a godmother, huh?" I said, stammering.
Before they could reply, I ran away so fast that they couldn't follow me. Except, if they will use some vehicles. I can't. . . I can't look at them anymore. They betrayed me!
