When she first looked at these texts, Zhong Lingling would find them so challenging that she had to read each line several times to understand their meaning, but as she read on, she might have become used to the style, and to her surprise, she found herself reading more and more smoothly!
She ignored the bits that were completely beyond her comprehension and silently noted them in her mind, planning to look up their meanings online when she returned to her room later.
Interestingly, she found herself particularly drawn to these dry and dull books, even forgetting that she was in a dark, sunless basement.
"Expanse of a Hundred Ailments" mainly recorded various strange and unusual diseases, detailing very explicitly how to treat each one!
Of course, whether it was because Zhong Lingling had never studied medicine, didn't know the herbs, or for some other reason, she had never even heard of some of the remedies mentioned in this book!
