章節 128: All New
I watch as Lilith and Rune argue over what color white the table cloths should be and roll my eyes. They all look the same to me... I've never been one for big weddings.. big anything and they were acting as if this was a crowning for the next king.
Though a lot of things have changed.. Now that Ryder was dead and gone the Light Fae has no one as their leader but there are rumors of someone fighting for power over there. Rune believes that the man named Decan will win over the Light Fae and rise as their new leader.
Rune has a few men in place keeping an eye on things so I don't think we have anything to worry about.. think, being the key word. I reach down and touch my growing stomach. Just as Lilith had said.. the baby was happy and healthy but when I asked her if it was a boy or girl she couldn't tell me.
She said she could only see so much and that this was the beginning of a new era and that worries me. New anything never comes easy.. Rulers changing.. babies being born.. I feel like we are in the middle of something much bigger but I have nothing to prove those feelings true.
Rune says it's because I'm pregnant and worried about our baby... It's true, I am worried about our baby but I also feel like it's something else. I have Lilith look everyday sometimes more than once a day but so far.. nothing. "What do you think love?" Rune ask holding up bundles of identical flowers.
I smile and say "I agree with you.." And he nods happily. I have no idea what he just asked but he doesn't need to know that. "What's wrong? This is all for your wedding with the man you love... so why do you look so worried?" Fig ask while eating fruits. He's become so darn plump.. but it only adds to his level of cute.
"Call me crazy Fig but I just feel like something's hanging over us.. like I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.. I don't know." I sigh looking back to Rune and Lilith. "Hmmm.. well we've been through a lot lately.. maybe you're just scared to be happy or too afraid to relax?" Fig says and I find that he may have a point.
"Maybe you're right.. maybe I'm just over thinking things and worrying about things that'll never happen... I just want to relax knowing everything will be okay.. that this baby will be okay.. that our new family will be okay.." I turn to look at Fig and he gives me a knowing look.
"I wasn't going to tell you until later but I've met someone.. she's really nice and we are expecting our first litter.." Fig says with a nervous smile. I blink a few times before I burst out in happy laughter. "FIG!! I had no idea.. when.. where.. you know what.. you can tell me all about it when I get to meet her. I'm so happy for you Fig.. You deserve it! Are you ready to be a father?"
He scratches his little head and says "I'm not sure but it's gonna happen one way or the other. We will both be parents now!" I laugh and scoop him up in a tight hug, like I've done so many times before. I'm so happy he found someone just for him and now he will even have a family. Rune walks over and ask..
"Are you ready to try on the dresses?" I give him a sour look and he barks out in laughter. "I'm so glad you're enjoying all this..." I say putting Fig down and waving around at everything. "I am enjoying this.. I'm enjoying every moment of this and I plan to enjoy every moment after this for eternity, with you.. me and our new little one." I smile at him despite myself and say "Bring on the dresses.."
