Chapter 31
Selena’s POV
When I woke up the next morning, there was no one on the other side of the bed, as usual. I thought Charles might have gone to talk to my father.
I went downstairs for breakfast, and there was Stella, who likes to sleep in, in the dining room. It seems that marriage has changed her a lot.
Stella came up and gently cupped my face. "How are you feeling, Selena?"
I dodged her creamy fingers. "I'm fine. My face isn't red and swollen anymore." I sat down and unfolded my napkin. "How about you, sis?"
Stella smiled. "Of course, I'm fine. I just got a little freaked out last night and Ryan comforted me for a long time."
"What's going on, and why is our father so angry?"
Stella shrugged and nibbled on a small piece of waffle covered in chocolate sauce. "Because of our marriage."
What? I don't understand. "You found your fated mate, I married Charles, and to be honest, our father had nothing to lose."
