Penelope’s POV

The beautiful white building stands quietly in the center of our pack, showing its mysterious beauty in the moonlight. I shift back into my human form and walk into the dark living room.

There was no one there and no light. Instead of feeling scared, I felt more and more excited.

"Alpha? Charles?" I cried tentatively, only to discover that my voice was unusually hoarse, but it wasn't water I was craving...

No one answered me.

I think Charles might be in his room on the second floor.

My hand gently on the carved wooden armrest, feeling its warm and hard touch. I looked up and let out a short breath, imagining I was stroking Charles's strong muscles. I walked slowly up the stairs, scraping the wooden floor with my high heels.

DA, DA, DA.

I hear my own heavy breathing. Damn it, I'm gonna explode!
