[Yang Menghuo POV]

"Y—Ying Jie, maybe you want to watch romance instead? I—I don't mind," Yang Menghuo said. He looked jittery, which sparked Shi Ying's roguish nature to tease Meng Bao.

Shi Ying had a smug expression on her face and teased, "My Meng Bao is scared of watching horror movies? Awww, cute strawberry bao, it's okay, the ghost won't pop out of the screen and bites you~."

"W—Who is scared? I am not scared!" Yang Menghuo reacted rather strongly. He puffed up his chest and snatched the movie ticket from Shi Ying. "We can do a marathon watch of horror movies if you want. I am not scared at all!"

Shi Ying laughed and patted Menghuo's arm.

"That's my Meng Bao! He is a brave man ready to protect me! Ahahah!"

Yang Menghuo didn't want to be called a scaredy cat by Shi Ying because it reminded him of every moment when Batman-Jie called him a coward because he got scared of many things when he was a child.

Yang Menghuo walked towards the counter with Shi Ying because they wanted to ask about their theatre number.

The workers behind the counter stared at their boss nervously. They didn't know what to do next, but they got the order from their manager, Uncle Fu, to pretend that Shi Ying and their boss, Yang Menghuo, had just won a lottery and was allowed to use the velvet theatre all for themselves and pretend that they didn't know who Yang Menghuo was.

Thus, in front of their boss, one worker announced nervously, "C—Congratulations, Boss—I mean, customer number 100! You've won the golden ticket to enjoy your favourite movie in our best room, the velvet theatre! All snack and beverages are completely free, and you can use the velvet theatre as a couple!"

"Congratulations!"

Other people who were inside the cinema clapped to congratulate Shi Ying and Yang Menghuo.

Shi Ying was exhilarated, "Meng Bao! We are winning a lottery! This is our lucky day! Damn, I didn't know I can be this lucky!"

Yang Menghuo didn't react much to this because he was the one who ordered everything, but he smiled and acted surprised to cater to Shi Ying's excitement. The staff escorted Shi Ying and Yang Menghuo to the velvet theatre. The huge theatre room was empty with one long sofa reserved for Shi Ying and Yang Menghuo, complete with all kinds of snack and beverages.

"Guest, if you want us to make any snack or beverage for you, just order it from the phone on the table. This is your reward. May I know what movie you want to watch?"

Yang Menghuo thought this was a chance to request another movie than horror, "Romance—"

"The same movie from our ticket! The new Conjuring!"

"Okay, please have fun," the staff glanced at her boss, thinking that her boss wanted to do some unscrupulous thing because it was a horror movie. So maybe, this woman would be scared and kept on hugging Boss Yang and something R-Rated would happen in this huge velvet theatre. But when she saw Boss Yang's face paled after Shi Ying requested a horror movie, the staff started to doubt her own prediction.

'There is no way the overbearing Boss Yang is scared of a horror movie, right?' the staff asked herself.

Shi Ying and Yang Menghuo sat on the long sofa. At first, they were at an obvious distance, "We are not in public, Ying Jie. My rental boyfriend service is only available when we are in public." Menghuo said.

"Tch, fine then. I am in a great mood because we won this lottery anyway. Let's just enjoy the movie."

The movie started, and Shi Ying picked a pack of melon seeds on the table. Meanwhile, Yang Menghuo crossed his arm. He didn't want to be called a scaredy cat by Ying Jie, so he had to act cool. His pride as a man was at stake right now. He couldn't afford to lose his dignity!

"You are not scared, right?" Shi Ying asked. She patted the sofa beside her, "You can just sit with me here, you know. I will pat you if you are scared."

"No! Why would I be scared of a movie!" Menghuo answered.

Shi Ying shrugged and continue eating the melon seeds, "Ah, this place has melon seeds, my favourite!"

Yang Menghuo glanced at Ying Jie eating melon seeds, and he took note in his head.

The movie started, and the bloody death scene, alongside the ghost nun and sound that made their heart, jumped terribly, filled the theatre.

"Haha! Look at that woman, she so stupid! Now she is dead, ah!"

"WAAAAA!"

An hour had passed, and Shi Ying laughed while eating a bag of popcorn. She glanced at the handsome man who said that he was brave enough to watch a horror movie, but now he sat really close to Shi Ying with his hand covered his eyes whenever the ghost appeared.

Shi Ying wanted to laugh at Meng Bao, but Meng Bao was genuinely terrified. Seeing Meng Bao trying his hard to look brave even though he was definitely about to piss himself.

"You can hold me if you are scared, you know," Shi Ying suggested.

"N—No, I can watch this. I am a brave man—AAAAA!" Menghuo covered his eyes again when the devil nun killed another person.

Shi Ying sighed. This guy was an obvious scaredy cat but still acted with his pride. He reminded Shi Ying so much of MengMeng. That little girl often said that she was a brave hero that would protect her Batman-Jie, but MengMeng was the one who got scared of everything.

Shi Ying slid her hand behind Menghuo's head and gently pushed Menghuo's head to her shoulder. Yang Menghuo held his breath when his head rested on Ying Jie's shoulder. He glanced at Ying Jie, and the latter just said, "No need to be scared. Ying Jie is here with you."

'No need to be scared. Batman-Jie is here with you.'

For an unknown reason, Yang Menghuo saw the image of Batman-Jie on Ying Jie. Although he knew Ying Jie was not his childhood sweetheart, this safe feeling was actually pretty much the same.

Yang Menghuo rested his head on Shi Ying's shoulder comfortably. Somehow, the scary horror movie didn't seem to be so scary now.

Because Ying Jie was here.
