Mao Liu had been appointed by her father a few years ago and had cozied up to Chen Xu to ensure his position and stay in good standing with the company. Chen Xu's father, Chen Murong, was the head of Chen Corporations, which owned Starwave, so Mao Liu knew keeping her happy was critical to his survival.
