“Ari!” Rosa squealed as she opened the door and saw me. “What a long time!”

I laughed when I saw how excited she was to see me, and we hugged at the door.

It indeed had been a long time since we last saw each other.

We used to play together when we were kids, but Rosa moved away after her grandma died, and we occasionally connect on social media only.

“How are you?” I asked her.

“I’m living my dream life,” she grinned.

“Good!” I was happy that she was living her life happily.

She had always wanted to be carefree yet still help people with her witchcraft, so I guessed she was living that life now.

“Have you found your mate yet?” I asked her.

“Nahhh…” She waved her hand, indicating that having a mate wasn't really important to her right now.

“But are you, Ari? I heard about what Alpha Shawn and Abigail had done to you. Can't believe that Abigail has the nerve to steal your mate,” Rosa said with anger.
