"Look at how beautiful she is," Dad tried to stop crying and smiled but was unable to. "She looks just like you."

“She’s perfect,” Mom kissed baby-me and sobbed. “She’s the most perfect baby girl in the world, and she’s our daughter, Alrick.”

“She is,” Dad agreed, and his body shook even harder, unable to contain his sadness.

“Charlotte…” Mom said my name gently with motherly love. “Lottie… I’m sorry I can't watch you grow up to be the strongest she-wolf and make us proud physically, but I’ll always be with you.”

She gave baby-me another kissed, and her breathing turned weaker.

“Alrick…” Mom said with weak and panted breath. “You have to love her. You have to dote on her for my part too. She needs to be happy and carefree. Don't let her be bound by the werewolf regulations of she-wolves having to be the weaker half. Let her be strong and have a mind of her own.”
