Since they had not encountered a Sin for days and they've been on watch all these days without anything happening, they decided to just sleep with no one watching.

It was also the night they were disturbed in their sleep. It had been several hours since they said their goodbyes when they were jolted awake by a sound that neither of them had ever heard before.

As if the sound it released wasn't enough, the ground also starting to shake uncontrollably, uprooting some trees in the vicinity while some were defiant and remained rooted to the ground.

If they were any weaker, they would've been blown away from the pressure alone but being races from the glades they were more or less used to things like these, Scarlet on the other hand had spent a couple of months in the forest with just Levi, so she had her fair share of training.
