It was supposed to be a calm morning.

A desk with piles of paperwork that involved the financial records of the city, and a glass and bottle of wine that had been opened.

Lilith was sitting in the middle of the room with people that were working with her but instead, they had their desks beside her.

They were all women, but they were all taking nervous glances at her each time she took a sip of wine in her glass.

Her face was expressionless but the aura around her was tense as she recalls the previous events.

In her mind was the memory of that one moment where Grantt's eyes became dull in the sight of her losing.

She became afraid that day, that he would just let her be, knowing that she was no longer of use.

But why did she think of that?

It was because those eyes were the same as those people in the orphanage before that had taken her in. The events that came after her parents had been killed.
