CH.5: Fast Level through Quests

[Quest: Find Dogfood!]
[Objective: Brownie and Whitie are dogs adopted by Eloise and Ella are somewhat special. Find food they can eat.]
[Time Limit: 3 days]
[Reward: 1. Reputation increased with Eloise and Ella. 2. Experience points. 3. ???]
[Punishment: Reputation decreased with Eliose and Ella.]
[Hint: Brownie and Whitie are special monsters, will only eat level 50 or higher monster meat.]
Seeing the information on the quest window Eugene's eyes almost popped out.
'The fuck is a special monster? Will only eat meat of high-level monster? Do monsters even drop monster meat? And how the heck am I supposed to kill a high-level monster?' He shouted in his mind.
Then the next instant he calmed down.
"Let's drop it then, there is no way I can find and obtain the special monster meat in even months let alone 3 days." He said with a sigh as he walked toward the Silver Stay inn one of the other named NPC he met today suggested.

Beginner Village, Silver Stay Inn.
Eugene saw the name and entered the building which looked like a mix of medieval and modern style of overly large café building.
He walked to the reception and saw a woman who appeared to be in her 30's sitting there with a customer friendly smile on her face.
"Hello! This is the Silver Stay inn. How can I help you?" She said with a polite voice.
"I actually want a to stay over with dinner included. Before that, can I meet with Miss May? Actually, I have some goods to deliver from Mr. Max."
When hearing the name of Max, the woman's eyes lit up and she said with an excited voice, "Really! Max send a gift for me!" She said while holding her cheeks with her hands.
"Awawawa… what could it be? Is it a confession? I am not ready for it!"
"Umm, Excuse me?" Eugene said trying to pull her out of her daze. "Are you Miss May?"
Hearing his voice, she broke out of her daze and said, "I am sorry for my unsightly behavior." She said with an embarrassed expression on her face.
"Yes, I am Mary the Inn-owner. So… What did Max send this time." She said with excitement in her voice.
"Ah, yes. Here you have it." He said as he pulled out a pouch and a box from the inventory, handing it to Mary.
Quickly opening the box, she saw a letter along with a few small presents that were included in the box.
She ignored the other gifts and focused solely on reading the letter.
When she read the letter, a bright smile spread on her lips completely different form the formal one she previously had.
She took a paper and feather pen from somewhere and started writing the reply for the letter immediately after.
While writing she sometimes paused while smiling to herself while sometimes crushing the paper and taking out a new paper to write.
After doing this action more than 9 times did she stop writing, looking over the letter with a hint of satisfaction on her face.
When reading the letter over and over many times and finding it satisfactory did she packed it in a envelop.
She looked at Eugene thinking for some time before saying. "Mister Adventurer, I have a quest for you if you don't mind." She finally said.
"Ah, sure but I would you mind if I do that tomorrow. I just want to rest for now." He said with an awkward smile.
Hearing Eugene's reply, the smile on her face broke down, while a sad look appeared in her eyes, she really wanted to reply to Max's letter right now but also didn't want to trouble the kid who brought his news to her.
"What to do? What to do? Max said that he is on work and won't be in the city till tomorrow. If I want to answer him, I will have to find him today itself. Stupid Max! Who told you to be a missionary Knight!
I might have to wait for another year for just being able to exchange letters with you! I can't lose this opportunity! But I also can't bother Mr. Adventurer more than this!"
She was in the middle of a mental turmoil; she didn't want to miss this chance to be with her childhood lover but was to kind and shy to ask for a 10 year old kid to deliver the letter for her.
As for why she couldn't do it herself? She is an NPC genius! If she even needs salt, she will just hand out quests for her rather than asking her neighboring merchant to deliver some every week.
And this time she has to search the whole town, possibly the nearby hunting grounds not knowing what mission her beloved knight is on.
Then she hardened her heart and said while looking at Eugene.
"Mr. Adventurer! Please, I request of your assistance! I need you to send this letter to Max before the sunrise! I promise to give you equally great reward!"
Just as she said that a new quest window appeared in front of him.

[Quest: Quest: Childhood friend of the Knight-2!]
[Objective: Find out where Max is and make sure that May's letter reaches to him safely.]
[Time Limit: Today till Midnight!]
[Reward: 1. Reputation greatly increased with Max and Mary. 2. Experience points. 3. Special gift from Max. 4. Special gift from Mary. 5. Reward of 'Quest: Childhood friend of the knight-1'*3.]
[Punishment: Reputation greatly decreased with Max and Mary.]
[Hint: Go at the southeast entrance of Beginner town near high level monster hunting ground.]
'What the fuck!' He exclaimed in his mind while looking at the quest window in front of him.
'Wasn't I just supposed to receive the quest's reward and sleep? Why the hell is even my quest reward is being blocked by the new quest which appeared now?'
He complained in his mind as he tried to reason with the unreasonableness of the quest window. Still, he calmed his mind as he looked at the quest in front of him from the positive point of view.
'This quest is still willing to give high rewards along with multiplying the reward of the old quest by 3 times over. It really will be great if one could complete such a quest.' He thought as he looked at the overly generous quest.
All of this were going on his mind while Mary looked at him with a hopeful but nervous expression.
He looked at her and with while taking a deep breath replied before the watchful eyes of the older woman.
"Alright! I will do it!"
Hearing this a bright smile appeared on her face. "Thank you, Mr. Adventurer! I won't disappoint you with the reward!"
He looked at her smiley face while taking the letter and heading out to complete his hopefully last quest of the day.

A few hours later…

All the notifications started appearing in front of Eugene, flickering one after another.
He raised his dead fisheyes staring at the notifications before falling face first on the bed of the room he booked.
"I just wanna sleep…" He muttered as he fell asleep after completing the quest 4 hours before the mid-night.
…
Morning, Silver Stay Inn.
"Yawn~." Eugene walked out of his bed as he waked up after 10 hours of sleep.
Though it did not take him till midnight to find max and hand him the letter, he was tired mentally due to running all day around the village, running here and there to gather quests.
Though he was mentally a teenager, but the due age of his body in his last life still had an impact on him, even more so after his reincarnation he realized.
'It must have been the ability I had in my last life. No practicality only problems.' He clicked his tongue briefly as he remembered something unpleasant.
He didn't even remember when he slept. He just laid on the bed and just woke up.
"Looks like it's true that you have good sleep after a daylong of hard work." He said while stretching a little.
His eves fell on the upper-right corner of his vision where he could see multiple notifications. When he clicked the button they started swarming like pop-corns straight out of pan.
"So many notifications! This is why I love named NPC quests!" Eugene exclaimed seeing the number of notifications he had, completely forgetting his complaints of yesterday.
"Now it's finally time to choose my next Job Class!" He said in a cheer full tone as he looked at the explosive increase in experience points the quest from yesterday had brought him.
[You are level 14 now! Since Level 2 you have yet to choose your second Job Class. Please choose your Job Class.]
Following which another long list of Job classes appeared in front of him, which ranged from warrior to sorcerer to other support type classes.
In YGGDRASILL there are three different types of job classes. They're usually ranked base, high and rare. Base job classes can be levelled up to 15, high classes can be levelled up to 10, and rare classes can only be levelled up to 5 at max.
Although Eugene had obtained his first Job Class as 'Chosen-One'. It was somewhat special kind of Class. Which can only be levelled up every 20 levels.
So, starting from level 2 he really didn't have any class. So, cause he didn't manually equip any class. Even though his overall level increased to 14 he was technically still level 2 stat wise.
Moving forward, now is time for him to choose a job class for himself, which will not only decide his future path but also his growth.
And so, he finally chose what Job Class he thought to be most suitable at the moment.

After levelling up, he saw that he had unlocked 4 more job classes which he ignored focusing on the following notifications which he got thanks to his previous hidden job class skill.

"Nice." Said Eugene as he read the notification window.
One might question why did he even choose the Blacksmith class as his first Job class?
If he had to answer he might just say, "Well, I have a chain quest related to a Named NPC Blacksmith."
After all, one can unlock basic, high and few of the rare classes by themselves and they all provide variety of special moves.
But to get classes which can raise one's stats, one has to find them without disturbing the theme and generated synergies.
Specially so for Human players, for Heteromorphic players they can get stats increase while levelling up their race classes and moves by job classes.
But Human players can't have such versatility, for them to increase stats they have to find certain rare classes which can only be obtained through some special quests.
That's why Eugene wanted to focus on the opportunity he got. Afterall he won't be lucky again till the start of next month.
He smiled sweetly as he walked out of the room.
"Let's go and complete some quests I accepted yesterday!" He said as he walked down the stairs while checking the time.
"7:00 AM. A good time to start the day." He whispered as he walked out of the inn, taking in a breath of fresh air while watching the morning sun, which is as bright as in the real world even the warmth the sunlight provides is same as on earth.
He didn't know that it is cause of the game itself being so advanced or because he is special that he can experience all those things different than mentions in the anime.
When thinking it through a thought came to his mind.
'If I am really able to feel all of this then shouldn't I also…' His voice trailed of as he made his way towards the nearest restaurant, ordering multiple dishes which are of just 1 copper each no matter the content which greatly surprised him.
Afterall anyone would be surprised if, both a glass of orange juice and a family-pack of chicken nuggets are of same price.
But thinking it through, he managed to convince himself that it is completely normal.
Afterall normal players can't even taste anything in-game why would the Dev's make it so overly complicated to even rate the in-game items which do not provide any boost to stat or any buffs of sorts.
Though this loophole surprised him, these are still one of the things that makes him realize that this is really a game world, and he is just interacting with a bunch of data, though named NPC's do sometime act to much like human.
'But now is the time to eat.' He thought as he put all those bothersome thoughts aside as focused on the food served right in front of him.
There were variety of things in front of him to choose from, starting from a Burger, French fires, Chicken Nuggets and various other drinks.
He picked up a potato chip and brought in front of him as he staring at it for long enough that he wouldn't have stared at a single piece even in his last life.
"Seems accurate enough. Now the final part…" He said as he tossed it in his mouth casually.
Just as he did that, his face darkened as he lowered his head. The slight trembling of his gave the feeling of being under pain.
Soon he looked up, with his hands raised high in he sky he shouted loudly, "HELL YEAAHHH!!!"
"It's real. It's all real! I can taste. Just you wait! Pizza, Cola, Berger's. All kind of food and talks about being unhealthy to eat. I am gonna find and eat them all!"
He picked up his pace at that, increasing the speed as he started to stuff all the things on the table one by one in his mouth.
Finishing the long trail of dishes in just a few minutes. Ordering a few more times continuing with the devouring activity.
Only when the count reached a few hundred plates did he stop.
"It should be enough for today."
Even though he could eat more as there is no upper limit for eating, but it is better to taste different things every day to explore what to be considered as good by one's taste.
"No, biggie there are tens of thousands of different dishes, and it is only the beginner village. Who knows what other places for me to are like."
Said Eugene as he opened the notification window to check the rewards for the quest last day as he made his way towards the central plaza. After all he still had dozens of quests to complete.

He thought as he remembered that slimes and such were not mentioned in the anime or was it his bad for skipping the scenes which he thought were boring during his childhood?
"So be it, it says it's a Rare Boss monsters, gotta have good drops."
Eugene frowned as he took out the box which had the description saying that it will yield any random drops of the monster. It even had the time limit of 1 week, in which it should be opened, or the item quality will fall.
'Quite tricky for a single weird item.' He said in his mind as he opened the box.

Eugene waited a bit for the further notifications, but nothing came up.
"Is that it?" He stared at the empty box right in front of him as he recalls the possible drops which were given in there.

Which makes them look experienced and intelligent, but it only managed to make him cute and immature face even more cute.
"Even though just one day passed" He silently thought in his heart, "Looks like my bad luck is back."
