I took in deep breaths as I lay on the forest floor looking up at the star studded sky.
'It's beautiful' I thought to myself.
It was times like this that made me truly appreciate life. The beauty of nature is always a jaw dropping sight no matter what universe I am in.
It was then I remembered something about this wonderful world that I live in.
Nature in this universe was not just something to admire and look at. It was also a force of destruction and chaos.
If harnessed properly it is one of the strongest powers known to men in this world. But if you failed to control its power it would without a doubt lead to your own downfall.
This was the reason why there were only 4 known sage users in the history of the Naruto universe or at least 4 that I know of anyway.
The first Hokage Senju Hashirama.
The fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze.
The messiah of this world Uzumaki Naruto
And finally, the incomplete sage, The gallant Toad of mount Myōboku, The white haired pervert that would give anyone a run for their money with his lewdness, Jiraiya the Ero Sennin.
"Soon I will also find a way to be counted amongst their ranks" I vowed to myself.
'I have So many things to accomplish, so many powers to make my own. 'I thought to myself with a smile on my face as my mind slowly began to wonder about the fight I just had with the Anbu.
The scenes of the battle began to replay inside of my head like a mixed tape.
I didn't even know if he survived my attack. I didn't even bother to check if he did or not.
Well, it wasn't that I didn't bother, it was more like I was too tired to do it.
But I hope he did.
I don't know what are the consequences of killing an Anbu of the village, whether it was accidentally or not.
But I doubt it would be pretty.
During our fight, it had become abundantly clear that he was just playing around and not trying to harm me.
It was as if he was testing me, gauging my strength. Forcing me to improve and evolve.
I can safely say that whatever he tried to do worked pretty damn well.
It was apparent to even myself that I benefited a lot from this fight.
Not only was I able to activate my devil fruit abilities but I was able to make a bastardized chakra cloak that allowed me to gain superhuman strength as well as use the flying slash attacks that one-piece swordsmen often used.
However, these techniques were not without their drawbacks.
No.
I was already suffering from the aftermath of using these attacks.
They were so extreme that it would be almost akin to committing suicide if I used them in a life and death battle where even a little mistake can cost you an arm or a leg or in the most extreme cases, your life.
My body is so fatigued that every part of my body is aching. This is especially true for my arms. It feels like there is someone constantly poking hot iron rods into them.
It hurt to even move my fingers and the killer headache that accompanied this pain will be sure to make me think twice about using these techniques in the future without proper control over them.
I guess that is what happens when you overwork something beyond its limit.
However, not everything was gloomy and dark. I could steadily feel my strength coming back to me.
Sure, it was at a snail's pace but the fact that it was coming back was something to be celebrated.
Especially when it hasn't even been 2 minutes after the fight.
I have no idea if this was due to my strange chakra or the unique physiology that I was blessed with.
'Who knows maybe it was due to a mixture of both?' I thought to myself.
*FOOTSTEP* *CLAP*
*FOOTSTEP* *CLAP*
*FOOTSTEP* *CLAP*
ANBU POV
"EHEHHEHEHEHHEHEH" I laughed internally.
'Look at him get all riled up' I thought to myself as I sensed a sudden spike in chakra from the boy.
I could see from his eyes that this was his last shot at getting me.
He had that crazy wild look in his eyes that you would normally find in ninjas that had one foot inside death's doorsteps. What makes them so dangerous is the fact that Bastards like this wouldn't hesitate to use kamikaze tactics if it means that they could take you to hell with them.
I readied myself to dodge his attack.
I could tell that he was about to use the same attack he used against my clone once more. There is no way that I'm going to take an attack that could behead a rock clone in one shot head-on.
That would be beyond stupid. Especially when I had no idea what kind of attack it was.
It's always better to be safe than sorry.
There is no way I'm taking the risk of becoming a corpse just because I couldn't keep my ego and pride in check.
"AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH" The boy shouted out as he rushed at me like a mad man with his kunai ready to slash me.
There was a noticeably thicker coat of chakra around his arms.
'He is probably reinforcing it as much as he can 'I thought to myself.
I used my own chakra to make a thin protective barrier around my skin as I watched the boy swing his kunai towards me.
*BBZZZZRRTTTTT*
A bright flash of light that resembled a crescent moon shot out from the kunai towards me.
"So that's what he did" I mumbled out.
"But what the fuck is that"
"That is clearly not chakra"
"It's not a wind blade either."
"No matter how much of a genius he is. There is no way he is able to use chakra nature transformation to change his chakra to wind instinctively like this"
'Not to mention all the wind blades I've seen so far are colorless' I thought to myself as I got ready to jump back.
It was then I Noticed that the brat was smirking at me.
Immediately alarm bells began to ring inside of my head.
Normally people would dismiss these as nothing more than a false alarm but when you lived like I do, constantly moving from one battlefield to the next, you start to become paranoid over even the littlest things.
Notching up my vigilance scale all the way up to a 10 I jumped back into the air trying to get away from the attack that was speeding toward me.
"You think I'm going to let you escape that easily." The boy shouted out as he lifted his hand towards me with his fingers crossed.
" TUDD"
It felt as if I hit something Hard yet rubbery at the same time.
I found my body get unwillingly flung towards the attack I was so desperate to avoid.
"What the "I shouted out as my mind began to work overtime as I made several hand signs before the slash enveloped me.
It felt as if my whole body was being dissected in half and I had no doubt that was what would have happened If I didn't have the small chakra barrier protecting me.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHH" I shouted out as I made the last hand seal to activate the jutsu that would whisk me away from here.
" Fuin Style: displacement summon" I called out as I touched a seal on my arm.
Almost immediately I found myself being Squeezed through what felt like a small tube.
*PUFF*
However, the moment only lasted for a second before I found myself up standing on the same branch of the tree I sat down at whilst I waited for the boy to come out of hiding.
*CRACK*
The sound of a porcelain mask cracking echoed out as My beloved fox mask split into two and fell down the tree.
'Looks like I Made it out in just the nick of time' I thought to myself as I found myself staring at the kanji character I scribbled on the tree as I waited for the brat.
If I was even a moment too late in activating the jutsu or if I hadn't inscribed the anchor mark on to the bark. I would have ended up just like my mask.
'I just wanted to test out the kid but almost got killed instead' I thought to myself as I replayed the last moments of our fight in my head.
'The flying blue slash and that invisible wall'
'Just what were those'
'Could it be a new Kekkai Genkai? ' I thought to myself as I got a little worried for the boy afraid of what the elders might do if they find out.
Sigh
'It would be just better to ask the boy about this' I thought to myself as I remembered the smirk he gave me seconds before I hit that barrier in the sky.
'There is no way the boy didn't know what he was doing ' I thought to myself as I jumped down from the tree.
'He must be absolutely exhausted. No matter how big of a chakra pool he has it's still not limitless. '
'Now let's see if the boy still remembers dear old me' I thought to myself as I walked towards the place the boy was laying down Purposefully making my footsteps as loud as possible while also clapping my hands.
