Fwoosh!
The frosty winter winds blew with fervour; as the chilly snowflakes carried by the wind bashed against the wall of a wooden cabin in the icy desert.
"Sigh, when will this child be born? It's been almost half a century. Isn't today the day of his birth?" an old man with a wooden staff muttered out loud.
At the corner of the cabin by the fireplace, a large egg-like structure was nestled on some hay.
Seeing as there was no reaction from the egg-like structure, he walked out of the cabin.
After he had been reincarnated by X, Aaron found himself stuck in a dark place.
He couldn't feel much of his body, but he did know that he had a body.
He reasoned that he was most likely in a womb, but that wasn't possible because X told him that he was the last of his kind.
The next best explanation was that he was in an egg or something similar.
His consciousness drifted between being half awake and fully asleep, making it hard for him to tell time and organize his thoughts.
Anytime his mind formed complex thoughts, he grew tired and fell asleep immediately.
Each time he woke up, he could feel more of his growing body, and the space within his enclosure grew smaller, but he still couldn't muster the strength to move.
One day, he felt a sudden surge of energy, almost like a jolt of electricity.
Using that energy, he pushed against the walls that surrounded him.
Surprisingly, the walls felt brittle.
Crack!
The sound of a glass-like substance falling on the ground echoed through the room.
After struggling for a while, Aaron managed to completely open his enclosure and grew exhausted.
The first thing he felt was the warm air around his skin.
After resting for a while, he struggled to open his eyes and adjust to the sensory information his body was taking in.
'Am I close to fire?' Aaron wondered as he could hear a sound reminiscent of the crackling of burning wood.
The only thing he could see was the wooden beams supporting the ceiling.
His head felt heavy and hard to move around, so he could only remain still.
He could feel that he was resting on his tail, an organ he wasn't used to. It was extremely uncomfortable feeling resting on his tail.
'Since I am in some type of house, there should be someone taking care of me,' Aaron thought.
So he decided to try calling out to whoever was taking care of him.
He reflexively opened his mouth to speak, but only gibberish came out of it.
'Ah, how silly of me. I can't talk as a baby. I should probably try crying,' he thought.
"Waaaaah!" Aaron screamed at the top of his lungs, albeit a bit embarrassingly.
He cried for a while, but no one answered; soon he grew exhausted and stopped trying.
Growl!
His stomach grumbled, signifying that he was hungry, but he couldn't do anything.
'Is no one living here? If so, my new life might just end due to starvation,' Aaron pondered.
'No, I have to keep trying,' he resolved and began yelling to gain the attention of anyone.
Soon he heard the sound of heavy footsteps approaching.
'Finally, someone is coming,' Aaron rejoiced as he awaited the person to arrive.
Soon a beautiful woman with flowing long blue hair, eyes as blue as the sky, two curved horns with a bluish tint, and a beautiful face that he couldn't put into words.
"Oh my, how cute," the woman said as she rushed and picked him up.
Immediately, the discomfort from his tail was relieved; now he just needed to make the lady know that he was hungry.
'She looks like a dragon lady that you would see in an anime. But damn she had some big knockers,' Aaron thought as she squeezed him against her chest.
He tried crying out in discomfort as the lady didn't seem to know that newborns were fragile, even Dragon kins.
"Aasterinian, what happened? Why did you suddenly leave?" a skinny-looking man with thick long colorless horns and yellowish-looking scales walked into the room.
'Wait, wasn't I the last of my kind? Who are these people?' Aaron wondered.
"Chronepsis, look, isn't he cute?" Aasterinian said while lifting Aaron up in the air.
'Hey, handle me with care,' Aaron protested, but his cute reaction only made Aasterinian hug him.
"I see, as I predicted, he was born today. I should probably inform Io, he will be happy" Chronepsis replied before leaving the room in a hurry.
"Wait," Aasterinian tried calling out, but Chronepsis was already gone.
"Tsk, what suck up. Anyway, little one, what shall we name you?" Aasterinian said while lifting him till they were face to face.
'Wait a minute, isn't Io like from Dnd. Am I not in Danmachi?' Aaron questioned, completely ignoring Aasterinian.
'Did X lie to me? No, there are many unknown gods in Danmachi. It wouldn't be strange if there were Dragon gods,' Aaron concluded.
'Now the main question is why I am with these dragon gods,' Aaron pondered.
"Hey, stop ignoring me," Aasterinian protested, shaking Aaron.
'What is it woman, I can't talk and you can't understand me, what do you want,' Aaron protested.
"I will forgive you cause you're cute," Aasterinian said before cradling him gently in her arms.
Not long after, two more people came into the room; they were Io and Chronepsis.
Io looked like an old man yet also like a young man. He had an old man's graying hair and a young man's skin texture.
"Io, I have thought of a better name for him," Aasterinian said as soon as Io stepped into the room.
"Sigh, stop, we already decided on this a long time ago," Io replied as he walked up to Aaron and stared directly into his eyes, shakily he reached his hand out to Aaron and gently caressed his face with a smile on his face.
"Child, we welcome you to the world. From now on, your name will be Draco, meaning Dragon. Though you may be the last of your kind, I sincerely pray for your happiness," Io said as he passed his hand over Aaron, now Draco's face, causing a wave of sleepiness to overcome him.
"As agreed, we will leave this child in her care for a while," Io suddenly announced.
"It's not fair; I only just met him, and I would like to know what it is like to be a mother," Aasterinian complained.
"Sigh, not this again," Io muttered in frustration. Aasterinian was the draconic goddess of learning, invention, and pleasure, but when left to her devices, she tended to be quite mischievous.
"No you cannot, we cannot actively interfere with the boys fate. You can meet again when it is time" Chronepsis said .
"Did you already foresee this?" Io whispered to Chronepsis.
"Yes, so I was prepared. She can be crazy at times like the other two" Chronepsis whispered back.
"Can I at least decide where and who will take care of him, I have 2 candidates in mind" Aasterinian pleaded
"Fine, you can take him to them. I and Chronepsis will be leaving now," Io said before exiting the room with Chronepsis.
"Sleep now, little one, there will be a lot to learn in the coming days," Aasterinian muttered as she wrapped the sleeping Draco in thick fur before exiting the cabin.
