CHAPTER START---
"Negi Island?" Jin asked with a raised brow as he looked at the scroll Tsunade gave him.
He was currently receiving his first solo mission. Dressed in a black long sleeve shirt with a red jacket over it and standard combat pants and sandals.
"Yeah, a prestigious family in the capital was attacked on their estate. Their crown jewel, a jewel incrusted staff was stolen. They have reason to believe it will be taken to a shrine on the coast, you're to either intercept or steal it back, this is your first S rank mission, not that I don't think you're beyond the enemies but do be careful," she gives him a small nod.
"Meh, I'll deal with it, anything else?"
"When not on missions I don't want you leaving the village for long, the latest message from Jiraiya said the Akatsuki is making small moves, he and Naruto will be arriving in a day or two, that's all."
"You want me here in case someone like Orochimaru comes back then."
"Exactly, you and I may not see eye to eye Jin, but you're strong, and you're capable of sensing that snake, we need to work together to protect our home," she gives him a solemn nod.
"Agreed, I'll be back as soon as I can, princess," he smiles at the woman before exiting the room.
As he leaves Tsunade can't help but frown.
"Always so disrespectful, I'd knock some sense into him if I could..." she mutters under her breath.
"If you could?" Shizune questions, not sure what she meant.
"Master Fukasaku and Jiraiya seem to think he's the key to something big, but I'm betting on Naruto..."
---1 Day Later...
Running through the trees at top speed. Jin can barely be seen as a blur.
A wide smile on his face as he enjoys getting to work alone once more.
'This is so freeing, nobody to slow me down and none of that pesky 'Jin you're being cruel bullshit from Hinata... Just me and my enemies.'
Within a few more hours, Jin arrived at the shore of the main continent, still within the land of fire.
For most shinobi, traveling into the land of Noodles to take a ship would be the only way to arrive at the cold Negi island.
But Jin isn't normal. He'd been gifted with the blood of the sage, unknown to him the only natural rinnegan user living currently.
Stopping on the shore, he casually takes off his sandals, allowing the sand of the beach to tickle his toes.
Jin doesn't care about some rich family losing their toy. He could finish this mission in record time without breaking a sweat. But he needed to use time.
In a day or two, Gaara would be kidnapped.
In six days Gaara, his friend, would die.
Chiyo will bring him back after that, that's what he needs. He needs the Akatsuki to succeed in all but one, he needs them to gather all the tailed beasts but Naruto.
Pain attacks the village then Jin kills him and removes the Bijuu from play by leaving the Gedo Statue sealed. Then he'd just need to find a way to deal with the Kyubi, remove the super weapons and this world will have one less reason to fight.
But first, Nagato's plan needs to succeed.
Jin can't help but agree with Nagato, the privileged people will always seek to expand their borders, they need to form a united front. They needed to share the same pain.
The Akatsuki will cause the pain, the world will raise their swords at the remaining Akatsuki when pain dies. Then they'll appreciate peace.
Sasuke.
Kisame.
Tobi.
Zetsu.
They will bear the hatred of the world for the sake of peace.
Standing in the shallows as the small waves crashed against him, Jin took a deep breath to relax. This was his little vacation.
Work work work, that's all he's been doing to this point, but now that things are on rails and his Unity is set up, he just needs to wait for people to kill themselves for their beliefs in this stupid struggle.
"I should get Karin something nice for her birthday, maybe she'd like to go to the beach too," he catches himself off-guard as his mind wanders.
"Jeez, since when did I start acting like a big brother again..."
