"Impossible!" 

The middle-aged man's mouth remained wide open as he stood there in shock.

"How-how is this possible? Where-where did they go?"

He frantically looked around, fully alert and ready to attack.

On the ground, near the carriages, there was nothing.

All corpses had disappeared; only the burning carriages and dead Ferghana horses remained.

There were no human corpses.

'But I saw them die!? What happened?'

A wild guess emerged in his mind, but he found it hard to believe.

'I blocked the qi - there was no way all of this was an illusion.'

He tightened the grip over his sword even more and shouted, "Whoever you are, come out and face me!"

Just as he had finished, he suddenly felt a sharp pain over his shoulders.

*thud*

His arm fell!

He stared in horror at his shoulders, "AHHHHH!"

*thud*

This time someone had cut off his right leg!

"AHHHHH!"
