When I was thrust into this world, there had been a period of time where I was confused, lost, and most definitely uncomfortable with my situation. I had found it through snippets of conversation that this was the world of Naruto, through the familiar words, chakra, ninjutsu, clans, and the one occasional few words of ninja and shinobi.
Surprisingly though, despite all the negatives, I found that my new life had everything I had been missing in my first one.
Family.
Friends.
Purpose.
It was invigorating. Discovering new things, new ways of life, everything just seemed to be perfect.
I, Rui Asura, my new given name, meaning change, had been born into the Asura clan, a clan that was morally in the grey, but still what I would call my family. Our special ability, or as they would call it, the Kekkei Genki, was the ability to transform any part of the human body into a mesh of machinery and advanced technology.
As nifty as that ability sounded, from what I heard and saw, the clan members could only control bits and pieces of their hands and body, and couldn't do too well with whole body transformations. The better ones of our clan were able to transform their entire limbs into what was suited, but the number of people who could do it would only be counted on one hand.
It was thought that, that was the limit of our Kekkei Genki. We were not the Kaguya clan, their ability to control every bone in their body to the utter extreme.
We were just us.
Yet that myth and thought was broken by the time I reached five.
With much training from my family members and teachers, at the age of five, I was able to show that I could transform my whole arms and body into various weaponry and machinery that would suit every task.
All transformations were based around our chakra and how much we had in reserve.
By the time I reached ten, applying my previous life's knowledge, I could turn my feet into rocket boosters. Effectively turning me into a fighter jet, but it drained my chakra exceedingly quickly.
There really was no need for me to practice my dangerous ways and drill my old habits back into this body, as it was an era of peace.
And that very thought got thrown out the window as the various hidden villages that had been established around the world had declared war on each other.
The First Shinobi War.
There were many amongst the clan who were eager to join the war as mercenaries, as that was what our clan was known for, yet our council had decided against it, stating that it was too risky and pulled our forces off the market.
Our village was located near Kumogakure, Village hidden in the clouds. They knew of us, and we of them, but they did not disturb us after we turned down their invitation to join their village.
The war had raged on quietly while we sat and watched, doing little other than raise our own forces. At this stage of the war, I had enough firepower to rival that of a small army in my past life.
But we didn't have need of that, instead on opting on increasing our own standing and resources within our lands. We did however though, do some trading with the Cloud Village, as they were in need of resources.
That all changed though, when we caught a host of Cloud Ninjas sneaking into our territory and stealing some of our resources within the second year of the war. We, obviously trying to be diplomatic, had sent letters demanding to know why they were doing that, and if they wanted more, they could've asked.
The answer we received though was war.
They came and attacked us without warning. One day our ally, or trading associate more like, to the next, being our enemy.
Our war with the Cloud Village had seen our resources drained to the limit, our numbers dwindled over half, and my people ravaged by hunger. We developed new techniques, new weaponry, new understandings of ourselves. To ensure that our bodies could not be studied, we developed bombs and placed them inside our bodies, so that when we died, we could take our enemies with us.
A suicide tactic that was effective.
With the mindset of helping my clan, I took the plunge and joined the frontlines, at the age of ten.
The war was grueling, nauseating, and dreadful, yet my body had never felt more alive.
By the time I turned 18, I had become the most powerful kunoichi in the clan, or more or less, shinobi. I had earned the name, 'The Demon Princess', for how much beautiful I looked, yet how dangerous I could be, which somewhat contradicting one another. With that though, came the position of leadership as the elders had stepped down to hand it to me.
Initially, the war was going well for us, yet in a cruel twist of fate, we were losing immensely, when the village of the Cloud had entered a temporary truce with their other nations, and enticingly, dragged in some Leaf and Mist Ninjas into our fight.
We were being overwhelmed to the limit, for every genius or prodigy that would be birthed on the battlefield, or from home, they send five to ten. For every normal shinobi we could deploy, they would fight against twenty of the enemies.
We were losing.
In desperation, I discussed a plan with the elders who agreed. We would migrate and enter the mountains graveyard, a piece of land between the Village of Waterfalls, and the Village of Sound.
As we started to migrate, the enemy intensified their attacks, pushing our frontlines to the limit.
At the point, it was no longer war, this was just pure genocide, as they killed and slaughtered any of my clan in their path. To buy us and the remaining clan members time, the elders threw themselves into battle, dying and holding them back for a couple of days.
We travelled and fought, and travelled some more. Our numbers continued to dwindle even further as the oldest of our clans dove headlong into the enemy and suicided. Pushing them back, bit by bit.
I forgot to note to, that this was the time that the system had emerged for me, the system that would usually help individuals, and make their seamlessly useless or down rotten existence into one akin to heaven. Or at least it what I was hoping.
It only displayed my stats, my health, my name, and my objective.
[Survive]
What did it think I've been trying to do this entire time.
The war, no, the slaughter or my clan, my people had devoured me, my common sense, and all form of rationality as I turned back into my old cold blooded killer self.
My system did nothing to help me throughout the entire journey, as clansmen after clansmen died, and many of the children and future generation passed away due to harsh conditions.
My hatred, my anguish, my despair grew with each death on my shoulders, until I held the last dying member of my clan. My family had long since perished, along with any relatives.
I could remember the darkness overwhelming me as I felt the last of my kin in this world disappear into nothingness.
She was just a child, breathing her last as her sickness overcame her.
I was forced to disintegrate her, until there was nothing left.
In my rage, my anger, MY HATRED towards the alliance, I fought, and fought, and fought, coming out on top of every engagement. From numerous Chunin, to Jonins fell underneath my feet as I plunged myself deeper into the blood shed.
Five years I waged war against the Cloud, against the Sand, against the Leaf, against the Mist, against the Stone.
It wasn't until near the end when I encountered them.
The five Kage's and their elite force of hand picked ninja's to kill me.
At the age of 23, my time to live had expired apparently.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Explosions had rippled across the plains as one woman, dressed in dark purple and black samurai armor from head to toe stood against a few thousand shinobi. Her samurai oni helmet had long since been discarded onto the ground.
Her dark black hair, and purple eyes, coupled with her sharp angular looks, made her look like a cold princess. But now that angelic princess look was twisted into one of anger as blood ran down her forehead, a fresh large cut appeared across her left eye, and a deep nasty gash across her cheek.
Bits of her armor had been shredded off, as her right pauldron had been obliterated awhile ago. As she stood atop a small hill, crouched over panting, her crazed eyes glared at the army before her as she let out an uproarious crazed laugh.
Surrounding her, were thousands upon thousands of corpses from every great hidden village, ranging from Elite Jonin from Cloud, to S - ranked Anbu from Leaf and Elite Chunin from Sand. It was a one-sided battle.
Her appearance was akin to a bloody demon.
Her name?
Rui Asura, The Demon Princess.
The last surviving member of the Asura Clan.
The Five Kages stood at forefront of their forces, a look of uncertainty on their faces as they observed the Demon Princess from a distance as she yet again wiped out another set of their forces.
"Brother, she has been fighting for over several days straight", a deep voice pointed out, as a young man with blue plated samurai armor, white hair and dark red eyes surveyed the battlefield. "I think we need to end this personally."
A rougher deeper voice growled out an agreement as a dark skinned individual dressed in faded yellow and white robes stepped forwards. "Hashirama, Tobirama, you both should understand how that demon has been ravaging my lands. Help us deal with her, and we'll help you in return." Running fingers through his afro, he let out a deep sigh of frustration as he glared at Rui. "This needs to end now, or else I will not agree to the armistice."
A grunt of affirmation followed that from both the nearby Mizukage, the leader of the Village of The Hidden Mist, an old man with a long grey beard, dressed in dull grey samurai armor, and the other being the Tsuchikage, the leader of the Village of the Hidden Stone, another old man dressed in light grey robes with white lining on the cuffs and sleeves.
"I told you people to just come with me to end it, but you insisted that we whittle her down until we could engage her." Letting out a light scoff the Kasekage, leader of the Village of the Hidden sand pronounced. His loose blue clothes and white cape fluttered in the wind as he raised his hands up, causing large clumps of sand to rise up, electricity danced among the sand as he stared at the Demon Princess off in the distance. "Now look at the consequences that have been wrought. Our forces have whittled down to half by now."
As all the other Kage and their trusted Elite Jonin jumped in to argue and make their point, Hashirama interrupted. "Please, everyone, let me try to at least talk her out of this one last time." His long black hair, and dark red and black samurai armor clanked together as he walked forwards, much to everyone's protest. He fought to keep his face stoic and remain calm, yet his eyes betrayed his slight anxiousness as he stopped a few meters away from Rui, and observed the corpses that littered around her. "Please Lady Asura, we can end this blood shed once and for all. Just stop this senseless fighting and we'll sort something out."
Doubled over, she peered up into Hashirama's dark eyes, intense anger shrouded her vision as she fought to control the madness that was rampaging through her mind. A calm lovely voice heavily laced with both sarcasm and rage emerged from her throat. "Sort something out? You? The Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village?"
Hashirama nodded. "That's right. If you know me, than you should know what I am capable of." He spread his arms wide. "We could work on recovering and repairing all the damage bit by bit." His eyes became hopeful as he continued. "You could even join my village and work on advancing my villages technology. Advancing into the future!" His voice had full of hopes and dreams as he beamed as Rui.
There was an awkward pause as she didn't respond, yet she and him held their eye contact for longer than should be necessary. His brown eyes clear and full of hope, while Rui's were full of rage, madness, and loss. Breaking her eye contact, she let out a small chuckle before stopping, staring off into the distance without saying another word.
"If it brings you any closure Lady Asura, those men that did this will be brought to justice." Hashirama stated after a while. His voice and sorrowful as he tried to reach a middle ground with Rui. "We'll ensure that it never happens to any-."
"Will this bring back my clansmen?" She interrupted in a raspy whispering tone. Her voice full of venom that shook his mind as he looked back at her, finding her staring off into the distance still. She was beautiful under the evening sunset. "Will it bring back the innocents, the children, the elderly back that were killed?"
Taking some time to think, he couldn't come up with a sufficient answer. It was clear as day that nothing he did would ever undo the damage that had been done. While it would help her recover, and slowly work towards a better future, he was sure that she did not want anything of that sort to occur. He let out a deep sigh as he felt regretful that it had to come to this point. With a heavy voice, he responded, "No, it will not."
"Then there's nothing more to discuss here." She didn't even give him a look as she continued to look off in the distance. "You should head back to your people and prepare for the final confrontation" , she suggested in a hushed voice.
Hashirama could only let out a deep regretful sigh and perform a small bow. "Thank you Lady Asura for at least entertaining my request." He turned on his heel and walked back to the safety of his lines with heavy steps, not looking forward to the what was to come. Tobirama jogged over from the other, meeting him halfway as he looked over his brother with worry, inspecting every inch of him. "Brother, she didn't do anything to you did she?" His voice full of concern,
He shook his head as Tobirama fell in beside him, the worry still evident in his eyes as he saw his brother slow his pace down. "No Tobirama, negotiations failed here. We'll have to keep on fighting." His face fell as he could only continue to ponder for the worst.
"Then all the Kage's will join forces to fight", announced Tobirama, his voice serious and full of dedication, yet it only served to worry Hashirama more as he turned to Tobirama to voice his opinion. "I'm afraid that this fight will be one of the hardest fights we've ever had to face Tobirama." As he stopped, he placed a soft hand on his brother's shoulder and looked into his eyes. "Tobirama, you should stay out of this fight, so that if anything goes wrong, the village will still have someone capable of running it."
Facing Hashirama, Tobirama felt conflicted, his face going through a myriad of expressions before finally agreeing to the request.
As the two went back to their lines, Rui glanced down at her armor assessing the damage it had taken. While not a complete wreck, it had seen much better days throughout its usage. Reaching down to a hidden compartment at her waist, she withdrew a small round flask, filled with blue liquid and popped it open, drinking all of its contents out.
The effects were immediate as she felt her chakra reserves being instantly replenished to 70%. Enough for her to take out the enemy forces standing before her.
Crushing the flask underneath her fists she let out another small laugh as she stared up at the still floating object in her vision. The same objective that had remained constant for five whole years without a single change.
[Survive]
Moving her focus from the words she stared at the oncoming five kage with a vicious grin as she felt her minds final defense against the madness break. She let it consume her as she a horrifying cackle emerge from her lungs. Swinging her arms around, she transformed them both into large chakra cannons, reminiscent of a WW2 naval gun as she planted both her feet into the ground, aiming the two large barrels at her approaching foes.
The Mizukage pulled out a savage blade, infusing it with his chakra as he ran forwards. The Kazekage glided across the ground, his sand rising ever so high up as he launched them towards Rui. The Tsuchikage flew across the sky, carrying stones the size of mountains, as he threw them towards her without no mercy. The Raikage's body burst forward with a speed like no other, as his body was covered from head to toe in lightning chakra that banged and struck everything along its path.
And the Hokage entered his sage mode, the markings on his face emerging as he summoned a giant wooden giant to accompany them on the battlefield.
With one last savage grin she let out an almighty roar that would forever shake the plains.
"I CURSE THIS WORLD!'
