I whimpered, I frigging, goddammit, whimpered in distress and the man sitting in front of me heard it.  A smile appeared on his destroyed face reminding me of the cartoon version of Quasimodo that I had once watched. I loved dark romances where the female mc thought nothing about stringing up someone and executing them slowly, either for a perceived wrong or legitimate wrong.
