Nihaal was startled at the voice inside him and abruptly stepped back surprising Suhasini. ‘What is it Mr. Nihaal? What did you mean when you said that I misunderstood you?’, she inquired. Nihaal’s breathing was restrained, he stayed quiet allowing his breath to steady before he answered. He cleared his throat and began, ‘Ms. Suhasini, I have noticed that there has been an awkwardness between us since that night, the New Year’s Party where…you know’, he said. Suhasini looked at him with quiet eyes as she thought, ‘yes, that night when you kissed me’.

‘I have sensed that you have been quiet, and if I may dare, unhappy’, he said. Suhaini now looked straight at him, daring him to go on. Nihaal’s direct gaze had faltered a moment before he continued, ‘Ms. Suhasini, I feel you misunderstood me when I said that what happened…’

‘Was an anomaly’, said Suhasini haughtily, ‘you said it is was an aberration, Mr. Nihaal.’
