98.89% Quiz Game system: starting from Marvel Universe / Chapter 627: Limited-Time Discount Event at the Points Mall

章節 627: Limited-Time Discount Event at the Points Mall

Wanda didn't hold back on her praise for Peter. Maybe it was because they had worked well together this time, but she found this version of Peter Parker (Garfield's version) much more agreeable than the other two Peters she knew.

Peter smiled but quickly frowned. "This is bad. Magneto is a dangerous individual. In the future, he'll become an enemy of Professor X and bring disaster to the world. If he gains more power, then the professor and other innocent people will be at even greater risk!"

Hearing this, Wanda just shrugged nonchalantly. "When you say 'innocent people,' are you talking about humans or mutants? Honestly, while Magneto's ideology might be a bit extreme, maybe he's right. Mutants need a strong leader like him. Professor X, alone, might not be able to lead mutants towards a brighter future."

Before Peter could argue back, she waved him off. "Alright, enough about that. Let's focus on you, Peter. Our luck wasn't too bad this time—even though we lost the game, at least we earned some points and didn't get penalized. You should use these points wisely. Otherwise, the next time you participate in one of these quiz games, you might not be as lucky. Like I said before, in previous quiz games, losing would wipe out all your points. So, it's safer to spend them while you can!"

As expected, Wanda successfully diverted Peter's attention. However, being a newcomer to these quiz games, Peter had no idea how to spend his points.

Wanda then guided him on how to open the Points Mall via his data panel. Just as they were doing so, they both heard a notification.

[Limited-time discount in the Points Mall is now active! For the next fifteen minutes, select items are on sale with various discount rates. Please shop responsibly]

Wanda froze for a moment, then her face lit up with joy. "The Points Mall is having a sale! This is a first time something like this happened! Peter, looks like our luck really is good. With these discounts, we should be able to get something valuable! Let's search together—start with the items that have the biggest discounts, then check out the high-priced ones…"

The Points Mall had an endless array of items—so many that even Tony and Bruce had each spent an entire day trying to catalogue everything in the mall.

Because the Points Mall lacked any categorization, finding specific items was a chaotic process. Players often couldn't locate what they wanted, so Bruce and the others attempted to create a manual classification.

However, they soon gave up on this idea due to the mall's random nature.

Every three to five days, the Points Mall would refresh its stock, removing old items and adding new ones. Although it didn't replace every item, it disrupted any patterns they tried to establish.

After several attempts, Bruce realized it was impossible to keep track and settled for creating a simplified Points Mall shopping guide, highlighting items that were high in value and appeared frequently.

Wanda had read this guide before, and she wasn't stingy with the information. She pointed out to Peter, "First, look for the 'Quest System' item. This one's really important!"

Thanks to another Peter Parker (the Tobey version), the players had come to understand the significance of the Quest System. With it, they'd have a stable way to earn points without relying solely on quiz game selections or correct answers to gain points.

By now, the veteran players fully grasped how valuable points were. The more points you had, the more incredible items you could buy in the Points Mall—things that could help protect the world, fight crime, or even assist loved ones.

The Points Mall was like a treasure trove: as long as you had enough points, you could buy practically anything you could imagine—and even things you couldn't. That's why Bruce's Points Mall guide placed the 'Quest System' at the top.

However, the 'Quest System' wasn't cheap, with a regular price of 400 points. Even among the veteran players, few could afford it. Now that the Points Mall was having a sale, Wanda searched through the options and finally found the Quest System. Its original price of 400 points was crossed out, now listed at a 50% discount for 200 points.

"With the twenty-something points I earned this time, I barely have fifty points altogether... Even at half-price, I can't afford it!"

Wanda sighed deeply, while Peter was already gawking in amazement. "Iron Man's armor schematics, Kryptonian bloodline, Spider-Man legacy… Whoa, are these for real? This is amazing! Oh my god, you can even buy an entire universe here?!"

Peter's eyes widened, excited and thrilled. "Miss Wanda, look! This item labeled as Universe 404 is on sale for 90% off! Does that mean I'd become the creator of this universe if I bought it?"

"Maybe," Wanda replied, rolling her eyes in exasperation. "Peter, please, look at the zeroes behind that price. Even with a 90% discount, do you think we can afford that?

"Forget about these ridiculously priced items. Looking at them is just going to frustrate us. Ugh, this is so annoying! We finally got a chance at a sale, but we still can't afford anything worthwhile…"

Like most women, Wanda had a particular fascination and desire for discounted goods, but with her limited points, she couldn't afford anything she really wanted. The more she browsed, the more dejected she felt.

In the end, just before the sale was about to end, she managed to buy a "Basic Guide to White Magic" for 40 points, half off from its original price of 80 points. After watching her future in the quiz game videos, Wanda had developed a strong interest in witchcraft.

As for Peter, the newbie, after browsing aimlessly, he eventually spent 20 points on a three-fold discounted item—a "Comprehensive Guide to Carbon-Based Lifeforms' Genetic Structures."

According to the description, this guide covered the genetic variations of nearly all carbon-based lifeforms across various worlds. The knowledge would be directly implanted into his mind, allowing him to instantly master complex genetic science.

Peter figured that if he shared this knowledge, it could benefit all of humanity. And since he was already interested in genetics, he thought it would help him carry on his father's legacy by developing a universal cure to benefit society—and, in the process, he could also study the changes in his own genes.

Meanwhile, Erik and Logan were also shopping. Being inexperienced, they were initially as shocked as Peter by the vast selection of unimaginable items in the Points Mall—it truly had everything.
