"Let go," I growled, anxiety flaring, did he know the other me?
"Luna," he laughed in disbelief then his face grew more bitter as he spat out "fucking bastard," Izzy's smiles and laughter stopped at Noah's sudden outburst.
"I don't know whatever it is I did wrong," I gulped, feeling slight static coming off him, at least Izzy looked unbothered by it. "But Izzy is innocent, she might not be-"
"Izzy," his voice was no less bitter as he said her name.
"Nyx," he called out, a woman appeared out of nowhere, dressed all in black, her face completely unfamiliar.
"Yes, Master?" She asked with a bow that certainly wasn't American.
"Take Izzy to the nursery, she is now your priority" he handed her over, his eyes not leaving mine once as he did.
"Nursery?" I felt winded as I watched Izzy being taken away with a happy look on her face.
"Noah, why do you have a nursery?"
"First you say she's Alex's then you say she's that mad bastard's," he growled, taking a large stride to make up the distance I'd tried to make during his rant. "You.. you…"
Suddenly he stopped looking lost for words.
"She's not yours," I spoke, desperately trying to hold back the tears guilt was forcing me to make.
"Why?" He asked, not an ounce of anger in his voice now, just desperation.
"I, I," I couldn't speak, I couldn't explain that it was because being her daughter meant a death sentence.
"Is it because of the general?" he spat the last word venomously, "I've dealt with him."
"But he's still alive," I felt frustrated, a scream threatening to erupt from my lungs in reaction to my pacing thoughts.
"I need him alive," Noah looked equally frustrated. We were getting nowhere.
"As long as that man is alive, she is not your daughter," I relented.
Noah stumbled to his knees, catching me off guard.
In a confused panic, I rushed forward to try and stop his fall. Only to find him clinging to my waist, his head resting at my womb as his tears soaked my shirt.
Eventually, I heard him whisper, "thank you."
Those simple two words haunted me to the core.
"And right now he is alive, so what are you doing with a nursery?"
Seeing he'd stopped crying, I tried to pull out of his iron grip unsuccessfully. My futile efforts only amounted to me falling over the arm of the sofa, landing with my legs in the air.
"Shit," I shouted, feeling the anger build up to an exploding point.
Noah laughed, his mood shifting instantly as he reached the edge of the sofa.
"Have you recovered your memories yet?" He asked, lying his head sideways on his arm that he rested over my stomach. Showing no intention of helping me out of my awkward position and blocking me from rolling off to get back up.
"N-no," I groaned feeling scared at feeling trapped, "now move."
"No," he sighed, "give me just a few minutes, then I'll let you go."
A few minutes was all it took before he finally moved to let me stand up and disappeared into the nursery, sending Nyx back out with Izzy.
In a daze I wandered home, feeling like I had just made a big mistake, one that I'd surely regret. When I reached home I spotted Hellios chasing a bird through the forest undergrowth.
"Looks like daddy's home," I spoke softly to the sleeping babe at my chest, trying to shift my thoughts.
Helios, hearing my voice, gave up chasing the bird to run to my feet, following me step for step through the already open door.
"Where were you?" Lex asked stooping over the counter and staring at the cold coffee he held in both hands.
"I visited Will," I shrugged, feeling irritated at him still giving me the cold shoulder.
"Just Will?" He asked, straightening up.
"No," I groaned quietly, "let me put Izzy to bed, she's asleep."
After awkwardly placing her in the Moses basket, I stretched, then pulled off all my layers, throwing them into my dimension, until only my underwear was left.
I took a baggy and childish nightie I'd loved to wear during my pregnancy and my slippers to return back to the living area.
"Who else?" Lex pinned me against the wall giving me butterflies.
"Well I visited Will and he lives at Mr. Clark's, you know that," I frowned, confused at his anger, it wasn't the first time he'd returned home to find me out.
"I also know he lives right next to Noah, are you deliberately avoiding mentioning that you saw him?" Lex asked.
"What are you…" my frown lines deepened, "wait, do you have me followed?"
Lex pushed away to pace again.
"Well do you?" I asked, not realising how loud I'd raised my voice. Izzy began to cry.
"Fuck sake," Lex cursed.
"I'm sick of this," unable to suppress my emotions any longer I felt it all explode out. "Get out."
"What?" Lex stopped midstep, almost tripping.
"I said get out," I took a step backward towards the door, eventually opening it up.
"Luna," he looked like a kicked puppy as he approached me.
When his hand touched my shoulder I unintentionally flinched, my heart beating loudly in my chest, rendering me breathless and dizzy.
"Get out," I raised my voice, feeling tears soak my cheeks, as Izzy began to cry from the bedroom.
"Luna, Izzy," Lex spoke softly, his anger completely gone.
I was just constantly messing up, no matter what I said or do it was wrong, it was always wrong. I felt led by the nose by these men I'd been so intimate with, but in turn they made me feel like they were just strangers, pretending.
"I know," I pushed his hand off me and shoved him towards the door, "just get out, please."
Once the door was clicked I stumbled into the bedroom, lifting Izzy out of the Moses basket to lie on the bed beside me. As she latched on to feed I curled up around her and cried until the both of us fell asleep.
