He knocked on the door before it opened, revealing a nearly empty room with one man inside, also holding a candle towards his eyeglass to brighten it. "What is it?" 

"A letter, it's important." The guard walked away after handing the letter to him. 

It wasn't unusual at all for people to be straightforward like this in an environment such as this; the less they talked to each other, the better. 

Information was everything, and the last thing that they needed was someone like Donovan spreading free information for everyone to hear. 

The man inside the room looked around the hallway before walking back into the department room, locking him and getting back into his seat, tearing open the letter. 

As he looked through it, he sighed, standing up and hiding the letter in his pocket before exiting the hallway, where he walked all across the back of the building.
