It took everything in me but I opened my eyes. I blinked severally before I sat upright, every muscle in my body screaming in protest, I was even temporarily tempted to clutch my aching head but a sound made me turn around.

It was Emily.

She was sitting on the armchair and she was fast asleep.

I was astonished to see her but, boy! Was I grateful to see her again. I closed my eyes and I said a few words of thanks to the moon goddess.

I watched her. She was cramped up in that chair with nothing but a blanket and a little pillow and it was painful to watch.

That couldn't be comfortable, could it?

And who the hell allowed a pregnant woman to sleep in such an uncomfortable chair?!

I should have them torture so they know how it feels like.

Ignoring every bodily instinct telling me to stay still, I ripped out the IV drip attached to my arm and I stood up.
