Walls did change, but it was nothing too different. It was well thought out enough to make it look like we were in the same place.
Jonah tapped my shoulder while I was just standing there watching the crew work like a machine.
"Wanna get some refreshments?" Jonah asked.
"You have to ask? But aren't we about to continue shooting?" I replied, as I could not even say no to free food.
"Abi is going to take her time, and getting some coffee won't take long." Jonah countered.
"Well, if you say so…" I agreed as I walked out of the place following Jonah.
"By the way, do they have Katorade?" I asked while walking, already preparing for what I was about to order so I don't have to awkwardly think in front of the person taking the order.
"Hmm… Katorade? I don't think so, but we do have Koke and quite a few sodas you might like," Jonah replied with a smile.
"Diet Koke, or just Koke?" I asked in a serious voice.
Jonah stopped in her tracks and looked back. "I- think we have both, actually."
"It's all good then." I replied, returning to my normal voice as we continued on our way.
I take my Diet Koke seriously.
When we got to the place.
It was the same room where I first got the contract, the room with four large round tables, each with four chairs.
I didn't notice before, but there was actually a door on the left wall.
Jonah then opened it and casually asked me to follow.
It was sort of kitchen, but if a kitchen only had a microwave.
There was also quite a large soda fountain, a mini fridge, and a tall stack of use and throw cups and paper straws.
"Well, this is much better than I expected." I muttered to myself. Part of the reason for that was the 8 sodas listed in the fountain. The other was that you didn't have to talk to a person to use that place. I do not know why I imagined that there would be some kind of server or it'll be like some drive-thru.
I pulled up a cup and start filling it up without considering Jonah, who brought me to the place.
I filled it up with 80% diet Koke, 10% SKrite, 10% Lemonade. Making almost perfect measurements outside of the realm of the human eye. Precision which could only be brought about by rigorous practice and a dedicated regime.
Jonah was there, just standing and staring at me.
I grabbed one of the paper straws and slowly dipped it into the heavenly concoction, which was overflowing with divine energies.
I slowly sucked, and the liquid touched my tongue.
It tasted great, i might have exaggerated a little and maybe i should have added a little less lemonade but it was still great.
But after just a sip, the stupid paper straw was already dying, so I pulled it out, threw it into the trash can at the corner and then drank straight from the cup.
Taking big gulps of the liquid as my very life depended on it. Only when there was just a quarter left did I finally notice Jonah, who was trying to eyeball the same drink as mine.
She got the ratios pretty much right and then took a sip.
Her eyes lit up, and when she realized I was paying attention now, she asked me, "Did you just come up with this recipe, or did you already know this?"
"Of course I just thought of it now, by looking at the ingredients, but there are chances that I might have had a similar drink but with different ratios." I replied with perfection in this art oozing out of my smile.
"Huh- this is certainly way too good to just come up with on the spot. I am gonna remember this one." She said with a nod as she took another sip.
"No, that's a huge no! You always try something different, so that they never know your next move. Randomness and entropy sometimes might just make your day." I replied as if I was some wise old turtle giving a sermon.
"Some people call that chaos." Jonah replied with a slight tilt of her head.
"I do like chaos, love it in fact, keeps everything fresh." I said as I took the last sip of my drink.
"Excess of anything is bad." Jonah replied.
"I know, but I choose to ignore it sometimes," I said with a small nod.
With that weird philosophical chat out of the way, we walked back to the set, where Claire was now gleefully sitting on the director's chair.
"Where have you two been!?" she yelled at us through the megaphone she now had. Heck, the megaphone was being held in front of her mouth by some other person.
"Chill, here try this." Jonah said as she offered her cup to Claire.
Somehow, Jonah still hadn't finished her cup, and it was still a quarter full.
Clair raised her eyebrow and then gestured to the guy holding the megaphone to bring it to her.
The guy obliged, and he took the cup from Jonah.
The guy even went as far as to making Claire drink the soda, he carefully positioned the cup between Claire's lips and then proceeded to slowly pour the drink straight into her mouth.
When Claire was done, she gestured to the guy again, and this time, he pulled out a tissue from his pocket and wiped her lips.
"Hmm… this is great, Jonah," she said with an acknowledging nod. "You! remember this drink properly alright?" The poor guy just stood there and I guess Claire could see the pity for him on my face.
"No need to feel bad for him. He's the assistant intern director. I am just giving him some experience." Claire argued.
Whoa, I guess power gets to your head real quick.
