Four days passed since Paul took the Pokemon Trainers' School's Entrance Exam. Today, which was Saturday, he would receive his score and finally know his ranking over the other nine hundred and ninety-nine examinees.
Currently, he was using the laptop in the living room, with his parents hovering at his back while having an Eevee on each side. He was logging into the official website of the Pokemon Trainers' School with his account. After logging in, he refreshed the page a few times until the time struck to 12:00 p.m., the time when the results would be revealed. Immediately, Paul was able to see the blank columns of his account now having content.

Paul and his parents immediately shouted and jumped while hugging each other. The two Eevees were also delighted as they run around the family. Paul was quite relieved that he didn't fill up a blank on the bonus questions wrong, as each text box has 0.25 point each. He thinks that his perfect score on the bonus questions made him rank #1, as the exam could be answered perfectly if you really studied well on the basics of Pokemons spanning from Kanto to Kalos Region.
Despite there are available information regarding Pokemons found on Alola and Galar Region, there is still no official Pokedex entry as Pokemons on those regions are still being studied. He studied Pokemons up to Galar Region because his tutor said so, which he has no problem with as he considers it as an advantage.
With his results, Mary and Joseph immediately brought Paul shopping to reward his successful achievements in the exam. They went to Devon Corporation, which has their own store in their lower floors, with their car. Paul and his parents directly went to the evolution stones section, as he already said what he wanted to buy. There, he saw different types of evolution stones differing in grades. Same as the system, people know how to categorize the stone according to their grade, though they don't know the specific effect of higher-grade stones, they still know that a better stone makes a Pokemon stronger after its evolution compared to a lower grade one.
Looking at the stones, Paul didn't know what type to choose from Water, Thunder, and Fire. He was preparing an evolution stone for Eevee, just in case. Mary and Joseph were able to see their son's conflict, thus the pair proposed a solution.
Joseph started, "Why don't you just get three of the stones with top grade quality. It's alright with your mom and I as we're really happy with your current achievement. Also, consider it as a late birthday gift, as we haven't really given you anything as your third birthday present."
Seeing their Paul's hesitation, Mary comforted her son, "I know, you're going to say that it's what you said." Paul tried to retort but was unable to respond as Mary continued, "But, it's what we want, and anyway, you can still use it in the future. It's a good investment for your future pokemons too, not just for Eevee."
The married couple finally sighed with relief when Paul finally accepted their proposition. The pair immediately asked the salesclerk to wrap up one top-grade evolution stone of water, thunder, and fire, each. Before they handed out their credit card, the salesclerk notified them that they took the month's quota of top-grade water, thunder, and fire stones, and of a current discount.
"We only sell one top-grade each kind of evolution stone a month. As you know, it's rare, the Devon Corps wanted to provide an opportunity for other buyers every month. Luckily for you guys, we just restocked earlier this day! And your luck is still rolling, because of a celebration from President Stone, as his son was enrolled in Pokemon Trainers' School. He granted 25% off to all purchases above a million pokedollars for a week! Thus, your total would be 4.5 million pokedollars instead of 6 million." She stated.
Paul was happy to save 1.5 million pokedollars for his parents' gift for him, and that they managed to get this month's quota of top-grade water, thunder, and fire stones. Though, he was quite curious regarding the news.
'Does that mean that Steven Stone, the son of Devon Corps. President, would be my classmate?' He thought, intrigued.
'Oh well, I'm not sure if we'll be friends but it's nice to know some original characters from the Pokemon franchise.' Paul concluded.
After ensuring the evolution stones on his person, Paul and his family went home. The next day, the three of them went to the school in order to fix up Paul's enrollment to the school. The staff were quite welcoming of Paul, as it was amazing to have perfect score on both the actual exam and the bonus questions. The closest score to his bonus question was around 40.75 points, which was 37 correct text boxes away. It was really amazing though; he was able to correctly fill up all 200 text boxes regarding the information of the pokemons' pictures displayed. Despite the examinees having random exam questions each, it was still a hard thing to perfectly answer all of them.
Though they went early in the morning, the principal of the school, Mr. Pine, still welcomed them personally in the registrar.
"Good morning, Joseph, Mary, and to you too, Paul." Mr. Pine said as he gave each one of them a solid handshake.
"It's nice to see you again Mr. Pine." Mary stated as Paul retrieved his hand from the handshake.
"Yes, I suppose. I was really surprised regarding the results of your son. He's just currently three years old right? Quite a promising child you have there, don't you agree?" Mr. Pine initiated a conversation as he looked at the Crimson Family.
"Of course, we are really proud of Paul, though we are already, even way before the exam." Joseph interposed.
Mr. Pine then looked at Paul as he asked a question.
"Then, as you know, as our #1 for this year's entrance exam, you are application is already accepted. Registration is the final formality before you could be officially a student of Pokemon Trainers' School. Due to your results, you are also qualified for full scholarship. What will you decide regarding it?" He asked with a serious expression.
Paul has thought about it already, so he answered directly. "I decided not to accept the scholarship, as we're able to pay them. I would rather the scholarship be offered to someone who needs them the most."
Mr. Pine nodded carefully, "I see… Well, have you told your parents already regarding this?" He asked as he looked at Mary and Joseph.
"Both of us support whatever Paul decides." Mary spoke for the both of them.
"Okay. You will see whoever will get and accept the scholarship, and when the school starts, you can check for yourself if they're really deserving. Now, we shall proceed with your enrollment process." Mr. Pine finished as he beckoned them to follow.
It took until the afternoon before they finalized his enrollment. A bit shorter than usual, as they already processed his documents earlier when he took the entrance exam. The school also gave them the list of things they need to purchase for his schooling that starts immediately next week.
'Let's see…' Paul mused as he perused the school supplies list.
