As I stood in front of the mirror, a maid entered my room and exclaimed, "Young Master, everyone is waiting for you. It's time to go." Admiring my reflection in the elegant black suit, I couldn't help but think about how good I looked. In my previous world, I was average at best, so this newfound confidence was a pleasant surprise.
With a nod, I responded to the maid, "Let's go." As we made our way to the main hall, I could hear the excitement building around me. A voice announced my arrival, declaring me the star of the day. As I entered the hall, all the lights focused on me, but I felt no nerves. Performing on stage in my previous world had prepared me for moments like these. With confidence, I walked up to the stage and even waved a little to the crowd.
On the stage, my parents awaited me. My father, with a sense of pride, began his speech, "Ladies and gentlemen, today is a special day for my son Alex and our family..."
After my father's speech, guests began engaging in their own conversations. As planned, I sang a song, captivating everyone's attention. Even though the family had designed this performance, the audience genuinely enjoyed it. Who doesn't love seeing a talented child singing?
Interrupting my thoughts, the system chimed in, "Not everybody enjoys kids singing, you know. Your voice is good, and mentally, you're not just a child."
Ignoring the system's comment, I continued mingling with the guests. Among them, I spotted famous individuals like Steven Stone. However, one particular person caught my attention. It was my material uncle, Walter White, the head of the white family. He was a handsome man in his 30s with striking white hair and blue eyes. Walter was also a champion-level Pokémon trainer, a feat achieved by all five family heads of the ancient clans. This accounts for the great respect these clans hold in society. Becoming a champion-level Pokémon trainer is a prerequisite for becoming a clan head, with the additional requirement of reaching at least the Elite Four level.
"Uncle Walter!" I exclaimed, rushing to hug him. Spoiled as I was, being a rich and good-looking child had its perks.
He chuckled and asked, "Alright, kid, what do you want?"
Taking a deep breath, I revealed my desire, "I want to become a singer." Despite being born into a wealthy family, the monetary support for aspiring Pokémon trainers was limited. Singing and releasing music would potentially bring in significant income.
Without hesitation, my uncle agreed, "Done, I will help you."
Years passed, and amid my success as a musician, I found myself being interrupted by a maid, reminding me of my responsibilities. Resting lazily with a book on my head, I had become a famous figure in the music industry. During these years, I had also acquired general knowledge about the world, including mature subjects like sex, owed to the high mortality rate of this world.
Furthermore, I discovered that there were mutant Pokémon and humans in this world. The mutations in Pokémon could range from different skin colors to unique evolutions or specialized abilities, though these were rare occurrences. Humans also exhibited mutations, leading to immunity against certain types or granting unique powers. Each of the five ancient clans possessed their own distinctive power. The black clan, to which I belong, had the ability to access limit breakers, enabling Pokémon to learn moves beyond their usual capabilities. The white clan facilitated Pokémon evolution without external assistance, the order clan enchanted Pokémon attacks, the life clan enhanced healing abilities, and the Potter clan bolstered psychic powers.
These five ancient clans, with their exceptional powers, held great authority. The life clan managed the Pokémon centers, while the order clan oversaw the police force. The Potter clan primarily focused on research, and the black clan dominated most Pokémon-related businesses. Finally, the white clan organized official Pokémon competitions, further solidifying their influence. Despite their power and prestige, these clans did little to assist younger generations in their journey as Pokémon trainers.
Curious, I accessed my status:
Name: Alex Black
Age: 9
Strength: D (still weak)
Agility: D (still slow)
Endurance: D
Intelligence: B
Skills: High-level piano, singing, reading; mid-level Pokémon knowledge, cooking, etc. (Most of these skills seem pointless.)
Unique Skill: None
Inherited skills: Black clan skill, ?, ?, ?
Shaking my head in disappointment, I muttered to myself, "There's no point in arguing with this dumb system. I have a live performance to do. I wish my family could be here to witness it."
