"Grotle!!"
The two tested the water, trying to provoke one another.
The two were too cautious as they recognize each other's strengths.
This results in a deadlock between two parties while the weaker Pokemon in the vicinity already abandon the place as the tension between the two only gets higher.
"Rhydon!!" Rhydon became impatient after 30 seconds of staring contest, he decided to make the first move.
Rhydon rushes with his horn pointing toward Grotle.
"Grotle don't let him get near, use Leafage!!" Tobi reacted quickly and ordered Grotle.
"Gro!!" Grotle obeyed his trainer's command as he releases a 5 green energy ball heading toward the rushing Rhydon.
"Rhhyyy!!" Rhydon exclaimed after taking the Leafage head-on but his momentum didn't stop even a bit!
"Gggrrooo!!!" Grotle was hit by the rushing Rhydon.
"Grotle!!" Tobi shouted as Grotle slammed into a tree after taking an advanced Pokemon attack.
"GROOOOTLE!!!" Grotle yelled, reassuring Tobi that he can still fight.
Grotle slowly stood up back on his feet but Tobi could see how serious that strike damage him.
"Grotle let's be careful and slowly tire this Rhydon!!" Tobi wasn't stupid and knew their chance of winning a head-on match won't even reach 25%.
"Grotle use Vine Whip, wrap your and Rhydon's Body!!" Tobi commanded which makes Grotle confused but still followed his Trainer's command.
Dozens of vine emerge from the ground that gushes toward Rhydon restraining him while a single vine flew to Grotle's side and wrapped his body.
"Rhydoon!!!!!" Rhydon was so strong for the vine to restrain as he broke free but not without difficulty.
"Rhy!!!" The Rhydon was enraged by his body being restricted as he stared at Grotle with his fierce eyes.
He lift his arms then slammed them to the ground soon after causing an earthquake.
"Grotle lift us using the vine!!" Tobi was ready and swiftly acted.
A vine out of nowhere wrapped in Tobi's waist lifting him to dodge the Earthquake.
The Earthquake was one if not the strongest Ground-type move ever discovered but it also has a major drawback, Pokemon that doesn't touch the ground like Flying-type pokemons are completely unaffected by this move, making it easy to dodge.
Tobi knows this and also knows that this is the most dangerous move this Rhydon possessed.
"Grotle use Curse, Growth, and Leech Seed!!" Tobi wanted Grotle to augment his stats as he knows he doesn't stand a chance at his current level.
Strength-wise, Lower level Pokemon or those that are not in their final form won't have any chance of winning against someone with higher and stronger species stats in 1 vs 1 and that's when the importance of trainer becomes obvious.
Trainers' job is not only to make their Pokemon strong but also to utilize that strength 100%!
Trainers need to be calm and collected at all times to command their Pokemon at full strength and win against someone stronger than them.
This is what Tobi was currently facing but he's confident that he and Grotle could win!
Tobi's eyes were scanning every movement the Rhydon makes and react one step faster.
Rhydon does everything to catch Grotle but he is too slow and Grotle was finally done Boosting himself.
Grotle augment himself to the best he could bear while also releasing Leech Seed to the surroundings, speeding recovery of the injury he took from Rhydon's Bulldoze.
Rhydon notices Grotle's strength increase tremendously as he got back on his sense and also decided to augment himself.
He tried to use Rock Polish but we're interrupted by Grotle's Razor Leaf.
Tobi knew how much pain in the ass Rhydon will be if he let it use rock polish even once and he won't let it happen, he commanded Grotle to distract Rhydon.
But they didn't act fast enough as Rhydon manage to release a Sandstorm increasing his sp. def by 50%.
The weather-based move is much useful here compared to the game and won't go away even after 5 turns.
The weather-based move will last depending on the strength of the Pokemon who used it.
Tobi click his tongue in annoyance as he was having a hard time seeing due to the sands.
Grotle and Azumarill don't possess any weather-based move meaning he won't have any move to counter Rhydon's Sandstorm.
Tobi has two choices, wait for the Rhydon to tire itself and cancel the Sandstorm or Force it!
Tobi choose the latter knowing how unrealistic it was to wish for Rhydon to get tired soon.
"Grotle let's end this, use Seed Bomb!" For the first time since the start of the battle, Grotle becomes offensive.
Grotle sends out a ton of Seed Bomb with the help of his mastery in the move which all hit Rhydon.
Rhydon doesn't have time to dodge as the Sandstorm doesn't give him any Speed boost!
Sandstorm might give Rhydon an Sp. Def boost but it doesn't matter because Seed Bomb was a Physical move!
The smoke caused by the explosion soon disperses and Rhydon could be seen in the center kneeling with one of his hands was in the ground supporting his weak body.
Tobi smiled seeing the weakened Rhydon and walk closer to him.
"Rrrrrr!!!!" Rhydon groans looking at the provocative smile plastered on Tobi's face.
"Looks like you lose big guy" Tobi said to the Rhydon who was looking at him with fierce eyes.
"Don't be mad at me, be mad at yourself for being weak." Tobi gave Rhydon a helpless pose while looking at him with pity.
"Rhydon!!" Rhydon yelled at Tobi's provocation as his eyes turned red in anger.
"Why are you so mad? because you lose? or because you're weak??" Tobi faced the Rhydon and ask in a serious tone.
"Because of your weakness, your fate is in my control. Now choose; die as and became weak forever or surrender and became strong!" Tobi strongly declared that a kingly aura was enveloping his body.
Rhydon didn't say anything and only lower his head but Tobi knew what that means.
Tobi smiled as he pushes the Pokeball in his hand to Rhydon's head, officially capturing him.
