"Grandpa," Johan greeted the Don sitting on a rocking chair, overlooking his fishpond while sipping coffee from his mug. He grabbed the wrinkled hand and pressed it against his forehead. "Is there a problem? Russell said you wanted me to come home early."

Don Juanico's forehead creased further in confusion. "Did I? I have nothing particular to discuss with you, Hijo. Why? Do you have another school work that you need to stay out late?"

Johan wanted to grab the mug of pipping hot beverage, hunt Russell, and splash it over his smug face. He had been tricked. Shaking his head, Johan forced a smile. "None at this moment, Grandpa. I'll get going then if you have nothing to discuss."

"Where are you off to?"

"To Eskrima practice."

"Oh, okay. Do your best."
