章節 38: Signing Ceremony

Marcus sat at the small kitchen table in his apartment, scrolling through his phone, when it buzzed with a call. He glanced at the screen and saw it was James Hart, his agent. He quickly answered, "Yo, James."

"Marcus, I've got news," James's voice came through, sounding pleased. "We've finalized the terms with Fulham. They've agreed to the contract, including the release clause and the relegation release clause. You're going to be signing it tomorrow."

Marcus's heart raced with excitement. "That's amazing! Thanks a lot, James."

"You're welcome. The signing ceremony is set for 10 AM at Craven Cottage. I'll be there to walk you through everything. Be ready."

"I will be. Thanks again."

As Marcus hung up, he felt a surge of joy and relief. The hard work and dedication were paying off, and he was about to take a significant step in his career.

The next morning, Marcus arrived at Craven Cottage, feeling a mix of nerves and excitement. The historic stadium loomed large, a reminder of the club's rich heritage and its role in its future. James Hart met him at the entrance, looking sharp and professional as always.

"Ready for this?" James asked with a smile.

"Yeah, I am," Marcus replied, feeling a sense of determination.

They walked through the corridors of the stadium, past framed photographs of Fulham legends, until they reached a conference room. Inside, Tony Khan and several club officials were waiting, along with a photographer to capture the moment.

"Welcome, Marcus," Tony said warmly. "We're excited to have you on board officially."

"Thank you," Marcus replied, shaking hands with everyone.

James guided Marcus to the table where the contract was laid out. "Here it is," James said, pointing to the dotted line. "Just sign here, and it's official."

Marcus took a deep breath, picked up the pen, and signed his name with a flourish. As he finished, a sense of accomplishment washed over him. The room broke into applause, and the photographer snapped several pictures of the moment.

"Congratulations, Marcus," Tony said, clapping him on the back. "We look forward to seeing you grow with the club."

"Thank you. I'm excited for the future," Marcus replied sincerely.

As the ceremony concluded, James pulled Marcus aside. "Great job, Marcus. This is just the beginning. Now, let's talk about your next move. You've been working hard, and I think you deserve a reward."

Marcus raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"

"A car," James said with a grin. "You've earned it. Something to celebrate this milestone and besides once you make your debut you won't be able to take the bus anymore."

Marcus had always dreamed of buying his own car. "I guess you're right. I've not really been thinking about it."

"Well, now's the time," James said. "Let's look at some options after this."

As Marcus left Craven Cottage, he couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and excitement. Signing his first professional contract was a monumental achievement and the idea of buying a car added to his elation. He felt a deep sense of gratitude for the support of his family, friends, and everyone who had believed in him.

Later that day, Marcus and James met at a nearby car dealership. They walked through rows of sleek, shiny cars, the possibilities endless. Marcus's eyes landed on a stylish black BMW, and he felt an instant connection.

"That one," he said, pointing to the car. "I want that one."

James nodded approvingly. "Good choice. Let's make it happen."

As they finalized the purchase, Marcus couldn't help but smile. The BMW represented more than just a mode of transportation; it was a symbol of his hard work, dedication, and the bright future ahead. Driving away from the dealership, he felt a newfound sense of independence and accomplishment.

That evening, Marcus parked his new car outside his apartment and sat behind the wheel for a moment, reflecting on the whirlwind of the past few days. From signing his contract to buying his first car, everything was falling into place. As he headed inside, he felt a sense of gratitude and determination.
