章節 11: Inherited Wills and Ways of Life #1

From the many different non combat or status effect moves that were either normal, fighting, fairy, and electrical type moves that Pixel had, the more that she used some of them that had more of a sensory or non physical damaging effect on herself or her enemies, the more she felt her own instincts improving a little at a time along with what she believed to be her own mental power or what she believed to be something similar to psychic powers from her previous world.

There were some which helped her to gain better control over her body with similarities to Life Return in the form of Bulk Up and Minimise which let her to switch between a smaller and bigger build to suit different fighting styles and situations but there were still certain moves which needed her to have a greater mastery over her human shaped body to be able to use them.

Another example of her limitations was the amount of electrical attacks she could use from her large amount of moves but also the limitations of her few psychic type moves which she did not have enough mental power to perform like Light Screen, Reflect but she was able to use Rest and Meditate since they did not require the same difficulty and mental abilities to perform.

With each use of Rest, she realised that it had not only helped to slowly eliminate physical fatigue but also mental fatigue but Meditate helped to slowly eliminate her mental fatigue, calm her mind and slowly awaken the power hidden within her body so she made sure to increase her Meditation use and get lots of Rest after tiring herself out from her daily training at such a young age.

Even some of her normal or fairy type moves were a little influenced by her mental power but they mostly depended on her beauty or cuteness to maximise the effects while Leer, Growl and others seemed to rely on her mental power but she could feel another power hidden within them that she could not figure out which made her realise the importance of using even the most useless of moves that she had neglected in her previous life.

After a couple of weeks of practice, she had started to adjust to the her new schedule that was arranged to help her learn different subjects like math, reading and writing, noble etiquette, navigation and social studies along with some more optional lessons like music, art, history and many other subjects like cooking, business and fashion which needed to be specially requested by the children to study.

Among the many subjects, it was a requirement for the heir to have at least a basic understanding of each of the mandatory subjects so they could carry out their duties on their own even without the advice or those around them and offer their own insights to solve certain situations.

Among them was the families duty to travel to nearby islands which requires a little navigation abilities even with the families collection of Vivre Cards and Eternal Poses to help lock onto a nearby island.

A good understanding of the basic written language and the currency was needed to avoid being cheated in the outside world while political or social studies along with noble etiquette helped the heirs to negotiate deals, purchase goods or trade items in the nearby islands but also keep up appearances in front of the other noble families.

Each lesson was taught over a short time once every couple of days at a specific time as the children were taught by their assigned teacher that they had to share while they were occasionally given some homework.

After the events of the sword selection, the old raccoon mink had accompanied Pixel by her side but he was very laid back in his duties so she kept to herself and focussed on her studies as she ignored her youngest brothers looks towards her.

She quickly learned a lot about her siblings and came to a similar evaluation as her grandfather as she had realised the flaws and advantages of many of them but she had found something before him.

Her older sister Felice was capable, observant and had good judgement but she was far too serious and hardworking which had allowed her to mature too quickly which may lead to future problems due to the pressure she faces as the eldest child.

Due to the teachers watchful eyes and them reporting everything back to the old family head, the siblings were usually on their best behaviour so she was able to live a carefree life as she had adjusted to her lessons.

However as she returned home, she spoke to her mother. "Mom, the others have started to bring a study partner with them to the lessons and we have not had the chance to recruit anyone or do anything like they have. I wonder what you-chu~ have in mind?"

Ash came by her daughters side and looked very serious. "I was going to leave things for another year until you have adjusted but it seems that I will have to have a proper talk with you-teia~."

Pixel sat obediently by Ash's side and listened as Ash continued. "In the future you will have to face many types of different people who lives different ways of life and have very different ways of thinking than you so first I will tell you-teia~ a little about my origins and your family. I will go over the Meridian family first, they may have their rules and such because they believe highly in maintaining a more logical and human view on life rather than following instincts or emotions which could lead to us Minks degrading back into beasts. I think the main reasons behind their selection of the main families bloodline is not only to preserve the feline bloodline but to keep their fighting potential strong while also giving their heirs a good chance of inheriting a higher intelligence than other clans. I hear that the main bloodlines martial arts are heavily reliant on the nimble movements of a cat or their overall balance and ability to land on their feet when falling or spinning their body but you-teia~ will find that out later. They are very loyal and devoted to their duties and have been for many generations as they serve Duke Genghis Baan who had been the sole ruler of Zou until the other two Dukes had returned. Although the family status may have fallen due to their weakening over the years and having their main task taken up by others, they still continue to remain loyal and carry out their duties."

Out of the many types of more intelligent furry animals, cats were already very high in intelligence while they had many types of different breeds that were very agile and powerful so it was no wonder that they wished to preserve the bloodline for many generations so that they could produce strong and intelligent heirs.

Pixel nodded in response. "I guess it makes sense why they are so strict about the rules and heir selection so that they can preserve their inheritance and make full use of it. Grandfather must really be hoping to place his hopes on my siblings to help the family rise up again."

Ash agreed with her daughter but she continued to explain. "Like I said, there are different reasons behind how many others make the decisions they make or the actions they take whether they are swayed by logic, desire, emotions or instinct but what I will explain is a different path, will or purpose that has been passed onto me from another. My origins are unknown to most and even myself since they may already be gone or had abandoned me when I was young enough not to have memories of them which caused me to struggle to survive with little help from others until I met someone who took me under him to become a chef and gave me my name which I have passed the middle name onto you as he did in the hopes that you-teia~ can live such a life."
