章節 14: The temple

Kissa looked at Sabola who smiled gently  as she helped her back to her standing position.

Kissa was curious how she knew she was going to fall but her curiosity was cut short when Zahra yelled angrily.

"What are you two doing there? Kissa,  get here immediately." Zahrah yelled and Kissa rolled her eyes before  walking towards Zahra and the other women.

Kissa sat on the floor and one of the women handed her a small mud bowl which was covered. Kissa was the only one who could connect with the spirits that would help deliver the kingdom's wishes.

Kissa closed her eyes and whispered some words into the bowl and with her eyes still closed, she poured the content in the bowl into the pool of water.

The whole pool of water started shining and Kissa's veil was blown off her head. Her hair started shining along with the water and the sky started turning dark.

Everyone  was shocked because it has been long since rain fell in the kingdom.

Cairo who was outside looked up at the sky in confusion. Pharaoh who was sitting on his throne, reading some files sent to him, looked outside as the wind picking.

"Is that supposed to happen?' Asim asked and Lapis shook her head in confusion too.

Lapis rushed out of the Palace but the wind was too much. "Something must be wrong."

"Lady Kissa please stop." One of the women tried to touch her but Kissa started levitating with her eyes still closed.

Sabola pursed her lips as she looked at Kissa's hair grew longer. "Someone stop her." Zahra barked out orders.

The rain outside began stronger but surprisingly, it didn't fall strongly on the field of food. After five minutes,  Kissa returned to her position but her hair was still shining along with the pool of water.

"Abundancof food. Victory for the kingdom. But you'll all pay a price." Kissa's voice echoed around the whole temple.

Kissa opened her eyes and everything returned to normal. The sun was high again and the weather cleared. The pool stopped shining and so did her hair.

Kissa looked  around and they all looked at her in shock. Kissa didn't even look at anyone,  she just signalled to Sabola to come help her up and Sabola quickly rushed to help her up.

Kissa shook off the water on her when she stood up. "You should continue without me Zahra. I feel lightheaded. I'll be outside."

"Al… alright. " Zahra stuttered as Kissa walked out of the place with Sabola helping her.

As they walked down the hallway, Kissa stopped Sabola before a large wall with inscriptions on the wall.

"I saw this wall in my vision." Kissa mumbled to herself  but Sabola heard her clearly.

"There's  a room behind this wall but no one has been able to enter since the last sorceress." Sabola explained and Kissa looked at her and she nodded.

Kissa touched the wall and surprisingly,  the inscriptions on the wall shone. Kissa closed her eyes and a voice spoke in her head.

"You're more powerful than you think Kissa, they are just scared that if you find your powers, you'll destroy them all." The feminine voice spoke in her head.

"Who are you?" Kissa asked in her head.

"You can't know who I am but Kissa, trust your instincts.  Whatever it tells you, do." The voice said before fading.

The whole temple started trembling as the wall was pushed inward and slowly the wall started moving.

Everyone in the temple  rushed towards the place and saw Kissa standing  before the open wall.

"Lady Kissa, please don't go inside,  it is very dangerous.  No one has ever been able to go in there except the last sorceress." One of the women pleaded.

"I am different  from anyone." Kissa hissed but as she was about to step in, Lapis voice stopped her.

"Don't even think about stepping into that place Lady Kissa." Lapis walked hurriedly towards her and pulled her away from the wall but  Kissa slapped her hands away.

"Let go of me. You don't tell me what to do or where to go." Kissa said angrily before sprinting into the wall and Lapis looked at Sabola who looked away before following Kissa in.

Lapis walked back outside where Asim was standing with his guards. "She stepped in."

"Get her out of there now."
