Chapter 3: Episode 3 - The First Archangel

The moment Perseus's form fully materialized in the High School DxD universe, an overwhelming sensation of divine power surged through him. The air around him felt alive, crackling with the energy of creation. He stood at the edge of a vast celestial expanse, surrounded by the swirling radiance of uncountable divine beings. These beings were the newly born archangels, each one a testament to the infinite potential of the cosmos. But as Perseus looked around, he felt a slight disconnection, as if he were something more, something older, standing amongst the newest of God's creations.

God, in His vast, eternal presence, was standing before him. He radiated a warmth and authority that resonated with every fiber of Perseus's being, a presence so pure, it was as though the very essence of existence was channeled through Him. He spoke with the authority of the universe itself, his voice a blend of serenity and power.

"You are the first," God's voice boomed, his words carrying across the infinite expanse of divine energy. "The first of your kind. The first archangel I ever created."

Perseus, composed as ever, knelt before the mighty being. There was no fear, only a deep respect and an understanding of the magnitude of the situation. He had witnessed unimaginable horrors, fought battles that had torn worlds apart, and been betrayed by those he once called his closest allies. Yet, here he stood, the first archangel in a universe that seemed both familiar and foreign.

"I understand," Perseus replied, his voice steady, unwavering. He had long ago shed the need for validation from others. But this—this divine revelation was different. "But what is it you ask of me, my Lord?"

God's gaze softened, and a faint smile tugged at the corners of His lips. "You will be the firstborn of this new creation, Perseus. You will take on the guise of My son, the one I have sent to this world to protect it. You will lead these new archangels and guide them as they learn to embrace their purpose."

Perseus's heart did not waver, but his mind raced. To take on the guise of God's firstborn would mean more than just a position of power; it would involve a role that carried weight across entire universes, shaping destinies, preventing chaos, and ensuring balance. His identity would have to remain hidden, his true self—a being who had witnessed death, destruction, and the fall of the gods—concealed under the mask of God's "son." And yet, there was something alluring about the idea, a quiet acceptance that allowed Perseus to feel something he hadn't felt in years—purpose.

"I will do as you command," Perseus said, his voice resonating with a quiet confidence.

God's expression became more solemn as He looked at Perseus. "You will stand as a beacon, guiding not only the archangels but the entirety of creation. The others will come to learn of you, and you must be their pillar. The name you carry will be known across all dimensions, and in time, they will seek your counsel. But always, remember: this is your true calling. You are more than what you once were."

Perseus stood, looking around at the newly created archangels, their forms glowing with divine energy. They were powerful in their own right, but they were newborns—still unrefined, still raw in their potential. Perseus could feel the weight of responsibility settling on his shoulders.

"I understand," Perseus said, his resolve unwavering. "I will protect them. I will guide them. And I will remain true to this purpose, no matter the cost."

God nodded, the stars themselves seeming to bow in reverence. "Then, go forth, my child. You are more than what you were before, but never forget who you were. The journey ahead is long, but you are not alone. I will always watch over you."

With those final words, Perseus felt his form shift. He was no longer just Perseus Aurelius Jackson—he was now an Archangel, the first of many to come, his very being a testament to divine power. As he turned to the other angels, he could feel their gazes upon him, a mixture of reverence, curiosity, and perhaps, even fear.

But Perseus—this first archangel—had learned long ago to carry the weight of his existence. He would lead them, guide them, and become the light they all needed. But in the depths of his soul, a darker truth remained hidden—the truth of his origins, the pain of betrayal, and the burden of the power he now wielded. The façade of being God's son would be a mask he wore proudly, but it would not be who he truly was.

The others would not know the truth. And for now, that was all that mattered.

Perseus stepped forward, the weight of his destiny clear in his mind. As he looked at the other archangels, he could feel the collective pulse of their divine power. They were all part of something bigger, but they would need guidance—and he would be the one to provide it.

The universe itself watched, and with every step Perseus took, it knew that this was only the beginning.
