100% Pathfinder: SpellBreaker / Chapter 2: Tutorial II

章節 2: Tutorial II

Zane had three weapons, a sword, a dagger, and a bow. He was able to use each of them when different situations arose, like now.

There was a group of ten or so skeletons roaming around looking for prey. Zane himself was not too far from them, but they had yet to sense him.

He made a makeshift belt with a piece of someone else's shirt. He did not kill them, he already found them slain. Cutting off the bottom half, he wrapped it around his waist so he could put his sword and dagger away. The belt was made to hold those weapons so it was pretty useful right now.

With the bow in hand he knocked back an arrow and watched it fly. It missed, but he had plenty of arrows. The quiver never ran out so it was good practice for him.

Since the arrow did not hit the target, the skeletons were not aggro'd to him. Instead they turned their head trying to find their target, but Zane was on a tree. It was difficult to spot him unless they looked up.

With nothing but time on his hands and an unlimited amount of arrows, Zane took time to use the skeletons as target practice.

[Obtained 10 Experience.]

[Obtained 1 Tutorial Point.]

After about ten or so tries he finally managed to kill one. Using a bow and arrow was hard more so than he expected it to be.

[Obtained 10 Experience.]

[Obtained 1 Tutorial Point.]

[Obtained 1 Stat Point.]

This world did not have the concept of levels, only stats. At least that is what he read. When it was time for a person to level up they gained the right to increase their stats by one.

From what he read, the tutorial was a place players could easily increase their strength. Right now they were all in a period of accelerated growth, meaning they could level up as much as they wanted as long as they continued to reach a new level.

The person who wrote the journal said ten skeletons were equal to one level, and that would not change no matter how much a person leveled up in the tutorial zone. But, there was a restriction placed on the players in the tutorial, they could only max out a stat up to fifty points.

Meaning a person in the tutorial could get fifty points in every one of their stats. With a little quick math that was a total of three hundred points.

There was an item that allowed a person in the tutorial area go past that by allowing them to increase all their stats by around ten, but it was recommended he have a team of four to get the item.

That was far away for now, so Zane just focused on what was in front of him and continued to kill the zombies.

He did not debate on which stat to increase, he put it into dexterity. That increased his accuracy allowing him to hit his targets easier.

Soon, the area was empty and Zane moved on to the next.

Repeating the same method as before, Zane climbed into a tree and shot from a distance. Once he reached twenty points in dexterity he felt he did not need to climb into trees anymore.

Sitting down by a tree, Zane took out the journal and flipped it open.

'Day 1 of the tutorial was hellish. I was afraid, but I dashed forward using my sword to kill all the monsters in sight. Not knowing that I too was becoming a monster. It was not until later did I know that those skeletons were just like us. Players in this foolish game.

They were restricted in their strength, and intelligence. Meaning they could be killed easily, but they would always revive later on. If a skeleton manages to kill five human players their restriction is lifted and they became harder to deal with.

A monster that can think, that is scary. Luckily there was only one of those on the first day. If there were any more I'm afraid none of us would have lived.

Someone later found out that you could make a party with others but the downside was that the experience would be shared. With everyone starting to realize that the skeletons were not that big of a deal the competition for hunting them became fierce.

I wish I killed more earlier to gain an advantage, because the first day was the easiest. Everyone joked that it was the creator or god or whatever way of giving you a cheat. You could easily farm skeletons for free experience and increase your stats.

The next person who reads this, know that skeletons are a gold mine. Forget killing humans, they won't give you anything. Just farm until you have two stats maxed out, at that point you should have it easy the next day.

Just know that after the rankings come out, the skeletons will start to become limited in numbers. If I recall, there was the graveyard that summoned continuous skeletons.'

Zane flipped the page, looking at the next entry in the journal.

'The tutorial? It was paradise, at least it was during the day. Listen, kill whatever you can farm stat points. When night time arrives my tutorial was flooded with zombies. Others said they only had skeletons, but fuck me man. Zombies were something else.

Those creatures just did not want to stay dead. They were fast and even if you cut off their heads they still came after you. My group managed to find out how to kill them the right way, crush the jewel in their head.

That or take it out. Taking it out might be harder but it's worth it because you can trade it for tutorial points later on.

Although zombies are difficult, that's only at the beginning. Like with all creatures, as long as you get used to them they become easier to kill.'

The entry was short, the shortest one in the journal but it did inform him that there could be other monsters here besides skeletons. Zane read other entries before and knew that there were demons, ogres, trolls and other fantasy being located in this world.

After taking his short break, he went on to kill more skeletons. He was unsure of how much time has passed by, but if what the person said was true then he needed to continue to hunt.

Skeletons becoming limited would mean he'd level his stats slower.

Right now his goal was to find the graveyard while it was still light out. That would be his hunting zone.

Someone might ask him, why is he doing all of this? Zane would just laugh.

He needed strength. That was it.

Just like in his school, he was the best fighter but he took no shit. Everyone toed the line and paid what they were told. Zane was simply using his strength to get what he wanted, simple as that.

If you did not pay, you got beat. If you told, you got beat. Eventually you'd learn, it's his way or the highway.

He was never expelled from school because his actions were done outside of school. Zane has been reported a few times, but when he returned back to school he made sure those that reported him would never do so again.

Basically, he was the school bully. But he had a system.

As long as you paid him five dollars, he would leave you alone. Be it male or female, he did not discriminate. Everyone had to pay, or else they would pay another way.

That was how he made his cash. Extorting money from those weaker than him.

Here, he did not think it would be too different.

Zane continued to farm skeletons whenever he saw them, racking in experience points as well as tutorial points. His stats were starting to increase at a steady pace.
