Axell
So I didn't exactly tell Kaylie about my dad setting me up with her cause I was afraid we would get awkward.
Yikes.
Anyway, I have to brainstorm on what should I get Maisie.
Wait, wait. Hold that thought. I have her number already! I should call her.
That's exactly what I did.
"Hello?" She picked up!! "Hey, Maisie. It's me!" Do I sound too joyful? Does it bother her? "Oh hi, Axell. Do you need something?" Does she really think I'm the type of guy to call her if I just need something? I mean-- yeah I do that to other people but never her. "I need your attention." I say with a cheeky grin. It's a good thing she's not physically here or she'd think I'm a dork. "Hahahaha! You're such a dork!" I pout. Never mind. "I'm sorry but I'm still at work." At this hour? But if she is why don't I hear any clatter on the other side of the phone? "What do you mean by work?" I just dropped her off at her house. She should be free right now. "Oh I'm working part time at this donut shop." Ohh. I see now. Guess I shouldn't disturb her... "Am I bothering you?" I ask her. She giggles. "I'm sorry but you called at the wrong time." Even if she tries to sound nice, I don't like the fact that I disturbed her.
I've got an idea!
"What donut shop? I'm gonna wait for you to finish your shift so I can take you home." I get to spend more time with her! "Don't models need their 8-hour beauty sleep?" I have thing soulmate feeling that she's smirking from the other side of the phone. "Psshh my looks are all natural and they don't need any kind of maintenance." I say with pride. Hoping she'll agree to my former proposal. "I'm gonna hang up now. Byyyyeee!" She teases me. "Don't you dare!" I gasp. I will find her no matter what it takes. "No but seriously, you should rest." She tried to explain to me gently. "I'll hang up now, okay? Good night." She then dropped the phone. I know she had to because she was busy but that won't stop me from escorting my princess back to her palace.
I change my clothes to a casual yet good looking ones then take my car keys. I drove out of my mansion to search for where she works. We live in a fairly big city so this may take a while. I hope I'll still be able to find her in time.
Soooooo
I think I've already explored half of the city in the last four hours. Maybe I should've started at donut shops near her home and not the ones that are near mine because duh that would be inconvenient for her.
I head off to the area where she lives and look around for donut shops.
Good news and bad news.
I found her, that's the good news. The bad news is that she's walking outside the donut shop in a dark street which if I'm correct, leads her back home. I'm a few meters far from her and my body has never felt more uncomfortable.
Worry shoots throughout my whole body. I can feel my stomach twist into knots as I think about how much danger she's in and to make matters worse is that she had to get through this every night. I can't stand this. I sweat profusely, my hands feel hard like I'm ready to punch anyone. I speed towards her as my emotions directed me to. But before I could get at least a few feet close, my second worst fear appeared right before my eyes.
A group of hobos came up to her and started looking at her in a way their eyes weren't meant to do.
Pedal to the metal.
Crash.
I sped right up to the men near her right and bump them. The impact I made sent the flying to the wall. I smirk. Perfect. I turn to my left to see only a traumatized looking princess who was trembling mildly.
Frick.
I curse to myself. I'm such an idiot. Ofcourse that would scare her! Heck, I'm glad her soul did not jump out of her body in fright. I opened my door cautiously so I won't hit her and secured her in my arms.
"Shh... It's okay now... No one is gonna hurt you now..." I gently coo in her little ears. I can still feel her body tremble a little under mine and I realized I made a huge mistake. I gently grabbed her chin so she could look at me. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to drive them away." I try to explain what I had originally planned to do. Who am I kidding. I didn't plan anything at all. That was all decisions based on emotions. She hugs me tightly in response and says nothing else.
I hum a special song she sings to me whenever I experience anxiety. She gradually relaxed in my arms and even hums along aswell. I pull away to look at her. "Let's get you home now." She nods and I open the door for the passenger's seat at the front. She mumbles a squeaky thank you and I close the door after her.
"I'm sorry about the damage on your car... How much will the repair cost?..." She hesitantly asks me. Is this woman for real? She nearly got harrassed and all she thinks about is this stupid car? I try to calm myself down because it was my fault why she's scared. "It's just a thing. It doesn't have a soul. But you do though so I would much prefer if you don't think about this vehicle and tell me instead if you feel better." I try to explain to her in the most calmest way possible. "But it's your car..." Sometimes, I love her persistence. Other times like this though is a different story. "Honestly, this car has done nothing good aside from the fact it allows me to spend more time with you since I'm able to take you to places with this car. Trust me, you're the only reason why I even bother to have a car." I smile at her for a while then turn to the road.
From the corner of my eye, I think I can see her smile. "Thank you and yes, I do feel fine." There's her soft happy voice that I was looking for!
