章節 10: Analysis

It's monday and the voting will reset, anyway here's a deal if I reach 200 votes today I'll add another chapter.

Good luck!

-Frieren-

Stark was a strange child, she was definitely most aware of that ever since meeting the red-hair human child.

But after traveling together with the human child, it only solidifies the oddity of the human child named Stark.

Different from any humans from his age, he's capable, mature and doesn't really act like his age.

It was such a strange thing, at first she thought of him as someone who reverted to their age, but it's impossible.

First of all, she couldn't detect any abnormalities within his body or mana, as there's literally no sign of tempering in it.

And also the fact that even if that was the case, there's literally no recorded spell about body age reversal.

Or at least to her knowledge so far, however Serie might have something like that.

Anyway it was clear that Stark isn't anything like that, that's why she concluded that this boy must be a prodigy.

It was fascinating to think she'd encounter someone similar to her teacher The Great Mage Flamme.

Similar but definitely not the same, as she wasn't sure if her master had this much mana at the same age or skill.

Frieren was sure that this child surpassed her teacher by a long shot.

Although she really couldn't understand how his mana suddenly increased, it was something that she couldn't comprehend even though she wracked her brain from thinking about a magic formula that could make that happen.

Increasing that amount of mana in a short period of time is deemed impossible, to her experience magic is something that takes time and couldn't be short cut, no matter how much anyone wanted it to be.

There's nothing that could make you instantly magically powerful, that's a mere myth or something from someone's imagination.

However, if it was indeed possible to increase your mana by that much in a short period of time…

Then there's no doubt that it's something that could revolutionize the magic society, not to mention the surge of mage coming from all over the world would appear.

Different standards will be made and a new era of magic civilization will start.

But for now, it's only something that she could imagine as there's no solid proof of that sudden increase of mana, she only saw it once after all.

Who knows if it was her hallucination or simply just a lucky coincidence.

Even so, it's still worth researching because it's interesting.

In the first place, she enjoys learning new things, she wasn't really afraid of wasting time because for someone like her who is part of a long live race.

Time is simply irrelevant and something that she could spare, however her subject material is a different matter entirely.

Unlike her who is almost immortal, the person of interest is not, as he could only live a few decades, if not a century if he takes care of himself.

Stark is a rare specimen after all, not only he's a prodigy as a mage, he's also a promising warrior too.

She might not be an expert in weapons combat, however she could definitely tell that this human child is talented.

Frieren's party consisted of 2 amazing warriors, it would be strange for her not to learn a thing or two from them.

Thinking about it…Stark is kind of similar to The Hero South as that person is both good at using swords and magic.

Although she couldn't accurately determine how good exactly that man is, as she never really saw him in combat, however she does know one thing.

He alone fought 3 out of 7 Sage Of Destruction and won, he died at the end but regardless it's the testament of his strength.

Frieren and her party only killed 2 out of 7 Sage Of Destruction, in at a separate occasion and there's 4 of them.

She did have a single conversation with that man once, he tried to invite her but she was going to reject it, but strangely he knew that.

Then after that he revealed that he could see the future, it was his magic and he trusted her enough to not say anything about it.

And in that future he saw his own death, which is accepted because he was satisfied with the outcome.

Perhaps to the man, there's no greater honor to die along with the 3 Sage Of Destruction, which was the greatest threat to humankind for a long time now.

But whether Stark could live up to his potential or not, she doesn't know.

After all, what's the use of potential if it can't be realized?

A dying genius isn't uncommon, but for those who break past it, are those whose name is written in history.

Anyway, it's time for her to teach him another spell. He really exceeded her expectations.

Even in her standard, he's way too fast learning those spells she taught him, they were meant to be learned for months yet, he learned them in weeks.

His comprehension must be out of this world, this must be the realm of genius that her master was once at.

At this rate, he'd probably start making spells of his own.

She might be witnessing the birth of another legend like her master.

I've been traveling with Frieren for weeks, for starters it wasn't too bad, however I felt like my job changed from traveler to a caretaker.

Somehow I replaced Fern with her job, taking care of Frieren was similar to taking care of a child.

But at least this one doesn't really complain much, and isn't annoying. That's why it isn't bad, although she could really wake up a bit earlier.

Do you have any idea how much time we wasted by her sleeping till noon?

If it was just me I would have already arrived at the next town, but with Frieren it would take some time before that happens.

Then again I asked for this, a slight delay in my trip wasn't a problem, the trade-off was definitely worth it.

Learning different spells from Frieren is something valuable, do you have no idea how much of a pain to obtain them?

It saved me trouble looking for those specific spells, although she does teach me mostly to support magic spells that I don't really have any use for.

But it's something that might be useful in the future so…I'm not complaining, as useless as they might be in combat they're useful in other situations.

Anyway, I'm done with my daily set of exercise which is 100 push ups, 100 squats ups and running 10 kilometers.

And yes, it's Saitama's training regimen. It was effective for most part, however it doesn't really have the same effect as Saitama.

Only a slight increase to my strength, and besides it's perfect for a child's body, which I would be increasing the intensity very soon.

I don't want to stop my growth with a more intense regime, since I definitely don't want to remain small or else Ūbel would tease me after our reunion.

"Frieren, wake up! It's time for lunch." That's right, lunch, it's a rare occasion for her to even eat breakfast due to her sleeping issues.

"Hghnn…" Slowly she opened her eyes, she's still half-asleep, she's doing her best to stay awake.

This is a surprise, normally I would have to wake her up a few times before finally waking up, but right now she wakes up after calling her once.

"Here's a soup to fully wake you up." I gave her the wooden bowl along with a wooden spoon.

It has boar meat as the main ingredient, I'm thankful that this world's elves aren't complete vegans.

Or else it would be hard for me to prepare some food for her.

There's a limited dish that you could make from only plants after all, not to mention I don't know why vegan dishes are made at all.

As I started eating the boar soup, the silver elf did the same and thanks to the warmness of the soup, she slowly stopped from being half-asleep.

After our meal, she took a bath at the nearby river. Since in this world the water of many rivers are mostly clean we don't have to worry about germs.

Thanks to the healthy environment, you literally don't have to use something like soap or air conditioning.

Even without those, you'll still smell great. In a natural way, the smell of nature.

You literally don't have to worry about bad odor, which is really a pleasant surprise for a modern man like me.

At first I thought that since this timeline is equivalent to earth's middle age. I thought people would smell like shit but frankly, those are rare cases.

I don't know if it's a unique trait of the people of this world, because unless you won't take a bath for a month.

You literally don't have to worry about having a bad odor.

It was honestly more magical than magic itself, it's an entire concept itself completely different from earth.

As expected of an anime world.

After waiting for a while for her to finish taking a bath, finally.

"I'm done."

"Well, if you're done then-" I completely froze as I saw Frieren's appearance.

Right in front of me, Frieren was naked as the day she was born.

Author Notes: Yes, I'm an asshole for doing something like this, but hey. It's a perfect scene to cut off.
