Arch had finally returned to normal after facing the bombardment of his father, and he was now sitting within his room as he stared at the mirror. Unlike his past self, his hair had now turned pure white, along with his now azure eyes his appearance was quite striking compared to his past self.
'Welp what am I meant to do? Dye my hair, wear contact lenses?' He thought to himself before shaking his head, he couldn't be bothered with such trivialities and it wasn't like the common folk knew about the existence of his devil fruit anyway.
After some deliberation, Arch then picked up his den den mushi and called for his butler. Soon a 1.7 meter tall, blonde haired, brown eyed man came into the room. His hair was neatly parted to the sides and he wore a neat suit with white gloves.
This was Alonso, he was 24 years old this year and had been Arch's butler since he was about 4 years old. "Do you require anything your Majesty?" He inquired as he bowed respectfully. "Yes, I need you to contact my 2nd Brother, my 4th Brother, the General, the Minister of Internal Affairs and lastly the Expedition Commander." Arch commanded before waving Alonso away who immediately got to work.
Within 20 minutes all those Arch had summoned gathered in the throne room, as Arch gazed at them all. "Your Majesty." They each greeted including Apollo and 4th, naturally in private this wasn't required but in the presence of others formalities had to be preserved.
"At ease, firstly I would like to begin with my first order of business. General George, how old are you if you don't mind reminding me?" Arch asked as he gazed at the old General, his hair was mostly grey at this point and he was clearly aging.
Hearing this George felt that his fate wouldn't be too good. "I am 64 this year." He replied swiftly, regardless he still had his duty to the King no matter how he felt about it. "Mhm, you are indeed aging, from today onwards I declare that General George Ward shall be stripped of his position as General and instead become a Military Advisor, while Apollo Tigra shall be the new General of Tigria." Arch commanded, George immediately felt relieved.
Although he was a bit aggrieved at being demoted, he knew that in essence his job was still the same at least for now. 'It seems that the King has some forethought, although I may lose to the 2nd Prince at this age his knowledge of strategy is no where near as deep as mine.' George thought as he gazed at Apollo, his job would now be teaching this oaf military strategy.
"Seeing as there are no complaints then General Apollo and Military Advisor George are now dismissed, I trust that the Military Advisor knows what's expected of him?" Arch asked George simply nodded in response before bowing once again and departing with Apollo.
"Now for my second order of business. Minister of Internal Affairs, I would like you to take the 4th Prince Aristophanes Tigra as your protege so that he may take your position in the coming years." Arch declared albeit with a somewhat nicer tone.
He sounded like he was asking a question but in reality it was more of a demand. "As long as the 4th Prince has no complaints I see no problem with this arrangement." The Minister pronounced as 4th simply nodded.
"Good, I would like you to shows Aristophanes the documents of our current internal affairs at your earliest convenience." Arch continued as he flashed 4th a look, after that both the Minister and 4th were dismissed.
After that Arch sat in silence for some time as he gazed at the Expedition Commander. "William Ryder, what is your dream?" Arch asked staring intently at the man. "I wish to explore the world and bring the knowledge and treasures I find back to the country." William answered with a fervent expression.
"Makes sense, but unfortunately that isn't possible in the current era, at least not while in your position, so I'll give you 2 options. One stay as the Expedition Commander and help I and your country, or two resign and go off sailing." Arch gave an ultimatum of sorts, hearing this William was stunned.
Although he did indeed want to explore the world as he said he still had a sense of propriety. "I shall stay as Expedition Commander." He quickly decided, for him this was a case of his dreams or his duty and ultimately he chose his duty.
It wasn't like this was the first time he had had this dilemma in his mind so his answer was already set. "Your decisiveness is honourable, and I am glad you've decided to keep your position. Now prepare an expedition, I shall be making my way to Lawless in 2 weeks." Arch commanded before standing up and departing from the throne room, leaving the stunned William alone in the room.
'Lawless, that's quite the dangerous place.' William thought before leaving the throne room, he had an expedition to plan.
Arch was now outside in his garden as he stared at the sky. 'This is going to be tough, seeing as Luffy begins his journey in 10 years, that means I have 10 years until everything goes crazy.' The boy mused as the clouds passed by.
He was 16 years old this year while Luffy was merely 7 years old at this point in time, meaning his knowledge of this chunk of time was vague. 'So far everything has been going according to what I know, Fisher Tiger freed the slaves about 3 years ago while Gol D. Roger turned himself in about 12 years ago, man really though fuck Roger.' Arch thought as he rose from the floor.
Although Arch didn't hate Roger he definitely disliked him, ever since the Great Age of Piracy began even their island was attacked by at least 3 or 4 pirate crews every year, and before Roger's speech not a single one had arrived in the 4 years that Arch had been alive.
'That bastard Roger singlehandedly caused all of my problems.' He sighed as he shook his head in dismay. About 7 years ago a group of pirates attacked Tigria killing 100 people, but that wasn't the worst of it, they had even burnt down about 40% of the crops while holding 1,000 civilians hostage for a ransom of 300 million Beri.
Unfortunately at the time not only had the King been away on an Expedition, but the General had to deal with another pirate crew who attacked simultaneously forcing the country to pay the 300 million Beri ransom.
Since then the country of Tigria has been declining which is why Andronicus stepped down so readily. He had already tried his hand at being King and he couldn't fix the situation so he decided to leave the reigns to his children.
Due to this the rest of the princes stopped quarreling as much which led to the current situation, which could be seen as a silver lining in a sense. This also meant that Arch had his work cut out for him.
"First thing I am going to do, is burn down that shit hole next door." Arch laughed before deciding to go back inside the palace.
