章節 35: The Power of The Yami Yami no Mi
Kai turned to everyone and warned them, his face was sweating, and he got on guard right away "Hey, someone very strong is coming!!!"
"More enemies, huh?" Killer flexed his Punishers ready to deal with any threats.
When Kid saw his brother's face, he got serious as well since it's not often that Kai looks that tense "Who is it?"
"We finally gonna have some fun" Krieg cracked his knuckles from excitement, his cape blown back by the wind.
"Let's and wait and see first before jumping to conclusion, Krieg" Gin said to him.
"There is five of them and they are all very strong, be careful!" Kai warned everyone.
There was a moment of silence before a loud noise of something approaching the peak of the mountain was heard.
"What's that sound?" Bonney pointed out while looking around before suddenly a big object with its roof shaped like mushroom cap appeared on the edge of the mountain, it was hanging from a rope.
When Kai saw it he finally remembered, the island had a tram-way system called the Drum Ropeway that connects from the Drum Castle to the rest of the island. He suddenly felt dumb knowing that now.
"Wait!…there was something like that?! why didn't we use it instead?" Bonney exclaimed.
"I didn't know" Kai replied with neutral face while scratching the back of his head.
"Zehahaha! This thing is very convenient, saves us time trying to climb these mountains" Blackbeard said preceded by his distinct laugh.
When Kai heard that laugh, he was frozen solid in his place from the shock 'Don't tell me--!!'
"Looks like we're not the only ones up here" Van Augur remarked while gazing at Kai and the rest. Blackbeard and his crew proceeded to hop off the Drum Ropeway and walked towards them.
"Eustass Pirates…As expected, we'd eventually ran into each other" Laffitte said with wicked grin while adjusting his hat.
"Who are these guys?" Kid asked.
"Blackbeard Pirates…" Kai stated while reaching out for his hammer "…They are extremely dangerous, do not let your guard down"
"Ohh, so you know us. I'm flattered…" Blackbeard said while he and his crew approached him. Blackbeard had a carefree attitude, but his sly grin made Kai feel uneasy "You must be Eustass…Kid? Kai? Honestly, you guys are pretty famous for a bunch of rookies that just entered the Grand Line…"
'Shit, I didn't expect to run into this guy. This is bad, he's very dangerous' Kai thought in his head while gazing at him with hostility "What are you doing here?"
"You look so tense my friend, relax…we are all pirates here doing pirate stuff, Zehahaha!" Blackbeard said, his laugh echoed in the silence.
"This ugly-ass motherfucker is that strong, huh?" Kid remarked while gazing at Blackbeard "Does he accidentally wipe his face after taking a shit?"
"Hoi Hoi, that's not a nice thing to say" Blackbeard grinned confidently.
*CLICK*-*GUN-SHOT*-*GUN-SHOT* Without a notice, Van Augur swiftly aimed his long rifle 'Senriku' at Kid and Kai and fired two consecutive bullet shots aimed at their foreheads.
Kai with his Observation Haki managed to predict the attack and using his hammer, he blocked the bullet.
Kid on the other hand tilted his head to the side, avoiding the gun shot upon feeling a sense of danger and killing intent coming from Augur using Observation Haki as well, but unconsciously 'Is that what I think it is?' Kid contemplated as he shifted his attention back to Blackbeard and his crew.
"That bastard" Kid glared in hostility at Augur who still looked very calm.
"Looks like they have some skills after all" Augur said.
"Hey, how about you join my crew? I heard you guys have some interesting abilities, I'm sure you won't regretted. You'll make a good addition to my crew" Blackbeard made them an offer that was met by a total rejection.
"No thank you, I'll pass" Kai replied calmly.
"Not even in your dreams" Kid said without hesitation.
"I see, that's too bad"
"Let's kill them and get done with it already, captain!" Burgess exclaimed while flexing his muscles.
ZWOOOSH!! SHING!! Killer's Punishers spun rapidly, and his blades gleamed under the moonlight of the night sky "Kill us you say? We still outnumber you, don't think it's gonna be an easy fight where you walk away unscathed"
Kid's left arm crackled with magnetic energy as he started attracting all the metal pieces around the area and even from inside the castle. Even Van Augur's rifle and Doc Q double blade scythe were about to fly towards him if they didn't tightly hold them back.
"Ototo…is he a magnet human?" Laffitte remarked, spinning his wooden can a few times while tap-dancing "It's getting interesting"
"Zehahahaha!...DIE THEN!!" Blackbeard laughed manically while releasing darkness from his body.
"Kid!" Kai signaled to his brother while summoning a thunder cloud from his right arm and from it, generating a large lightning bolt.
"I got you little bro!" Kid quickly formed a giant harpoon gun out of metal pieces around his right arm, from which he is capable of rapidly firing metal spears at a target akin to a Gatling gun.
"Black Opening!!" Similar to a combination of Black Hole and Liberation, Blackbeard tried to draw the enemies in front of him into a pool of darkness in order to deal immense damage to them, but the two captains reacted quickly.
<Soru>
SWOOOSH!! SWOOOSH!! Using Soru the two brothers disappeared from the ground before reappearing again mid-air.
"What?!" Blackbeard looked taken aback by their speed before Kai grabbed the lightning bolt with his hand and hurled it towards Blackbeard at a high speed.
*Lightning*-*Lightning*
"Indra's Vajra!!"
At the same time Kid fired several metal spears at a high-speed using his gun.
"Punk Pistols!!"
"Hoi, hoi, you're kidding me?—BOOOOM!!!" Kai's attack managed to hit Blackbeard and the lightning shocked him dealing some damage, as for Kid spears, one of them managed to leave a small slash on Blackbeard's left arm but his crew blocked the rest of them "Damn it!!..."
Blackbeard rolled on the ground in pain while cursing in anger "…I let my guard down, fucking brats!"
"Let us give you a hand, captain!! Wiiihahaha!!" Burgess and Van Augur tried to jump at Kai and Kid supporting their captain, but they were stopped by Killer and Krieg.
*GUN-SHOT* Van Augur shot Kai again, aiming to kill him with a bullet in the head before Killer used one of his blades to block it.
Killer then charged towards Augur at a high-speed taking advantage of his extraordinary agility and speed before leaped at him delivering a powerful horizontal slash aimed at his neck and followed by a powerful kick.
Augur managed to easily block the attack using his rifle before the two jumped back, landing on the ground again.
"I won't let you interfere" Killer declared.
"Tch…He's some bodyguard"
On the other hand, Burgess who rounded his fists and was trying to punch Kid was stopped by Krieg before doing that.
"Out of the way, trash!" Krieg wasted no time in taking off his gloves, revealing a set of Diamond Fists, metal gauntlets with a small diamond over each knuckle and a larger one on the back of each hand.
BAAAM!! Burgess and Krieg punched each other in the face, but the result was that Krieg was sent flying back before he crashed to the ground, bleeding from the corner of his mouth while Burgess only received a small scratch.
"Don't get ahead of yourselves, you guys are no match to us!" Burgess declared with a wide grin stretching across his face.
"You got me angry…I'll beat you into a pulp!"
Behind them was Blackbeard, Kai and Kid facing each other.
"You just got lucky, I'll show you the true power of my Yami Yami no Mi" Blackbeard declared while extending his hand towards Kai, activating the gravity power of his darkness to pull him into his grasp "Black Vortex!!"
When Kai saw it, he immediately recognized the attack and knew what Blackbeard was trying to do, but it was too late as the gravity power was strong enough to pull him without resistance "Shit!"
In a mere second Kai found himself in the grasped of Blackbeard and as he expected, Blackbeard was able to touch his Logia body as well as nullifying his power "Zehahaha! Eat this!—BAAAM!"
"AGHHH!!" Blackbeard punched Kai in the stomach hard enough that he coughed blood while still holding him by the shoulder.
"Kai!!!" When Kid saw that he wasted no time in charging towards them, closing the distance in a split second with Soru before he tried to fire another round of metal spears with his giant harpoon gun.
But Blackbeard reacted quickly and proceeded to throw Kai at Kid, sending the two rolling on the ground until they crashed into the castle walls.
"Damn it!" Kid cursed loudly while slowly getting on his feet "Why didn't you attack him while he was holding you before?"
"It's not that simple, that guy…he can nullify devil fruit powers by touching its users" Kai stated "I couldn't use my power at all"
Kid was shocked upon hearing that statement "He can do that?...that's a ridiculous power, what should we do?"
"I have a backup plan that might work if it gets hopeless…" Kai said that fully knowing that their actual chances of winning is slim to none, but even against those odds surrendering or running away without even fighting wasn't an option that he will consider "…The only way to even have a chance is by preventing him from touching us, but the problem is that he can use his darkness gravity to pull anything towards him"
"I'm darkness... Historically the world's most villainous Devil Fruit power, you guys are nowhere near my level. Give it up already, or you'll die pathetically"
"Die? You think we're afraid to die?" Kai said with a smirk while wiping the blood from his mouth.
"Anyone who doesn't have the resolve to risk their lives…" Kid said while attracting dozens of metal pieces towards him "…has no place on this sea!"
"Bring it! You can't stop me!...Zehahaha!"
