"Just let him go like that?" Hina asked, watching Blackbeard's boat disappear into the distance, her eyebrows slightly furrowed.
"Killing him wouldn't benefit me. Keeping him alive might create some trouble for the Celestial Dragons. Let him grow—perhaps he could play an unexpected role someday."
Chiba paused thoughtfully. "Over the past few days, I've thought it over. It's time Ace learned a lesson. Let him experience some hardship in Impel Down; maybe it'll teach him to be less reckless in the future."
"Next, we'll head to Sabaody Archipelago. Those Supernovas there are perfect research subjects. We can capture a few to study, and I can check on my idiot brother."
A smile played on Chiba's lips as he boarded the merchant ship. They captured a Sea King, speeding their journey to Sabaody Archipelago.
A few days later, members of the Whitebeard Pirates, Red-Haired Pirates, and even Kaido's crew and the Revolutionary Army arrived at Banaro Island, only to find nothing but disappointment.
By midday, Chiba had already reached Sabaody Archipelago.
This was his first time seeing it in person.
Watching Sabaody on a screen and experiencing it firsthand were entirely different. Giant mangrove trees stood like mountains, their roots twisting and sprawling. Small towns were built across their surfaces, and countless bubbles floated up from the ground, creating a dreamlike atmosphere.
The archipelago was bustling with life. Streets were lined with people, food stalls, and various exotic goods. Marines patrolled regularly, and occasionally, a Celestial Dragon, wearing their distinctive bubble helmet, would strut proudly down the road.
Koby and Helmeppo gazed around, captivated by the unique sights.
Peacock dashed from shop to shop, buying bold and eye-catching clothes, asking Chiba for his opinion each time.
Hina, clearly annoyed, clenched her fists and glared at Peacock, which finally made her stop bothering Chiba.
Chiba, Hina, and Peacock were well-known figures, and it didn't take long for ordinary people to recognize them. Soon, crowds gathered, whispering excitedly.
"Those are the New Age Marine monsters—Man Snake Peacock, Pegasus Hina, and the legendary Marine Admiral candidate, Chiba! What are they doing on Sabaody Archipelago?"
"My god, why are such big names gathering here?"
"I heard the Supernovas have been showing up on Sabaody recently. Could it be that they're here for them?"
In the crowd, a man with flowing blond hair, a slender frame, and a sinister look watched Chiba intently. A cross tattoo marked his Adam's apple, and the Six Paths vertical stripes on his forehead identified him clearly.
It was Basil Hawkins, one of the Eleven Supernovas, with a bounty of 249 million Beli. He wielded the powers of the Paramecia-type Straw-Straw Fruit.
"Marine monster, legendary Marine… I don't see the big deal." Hawkins spoke indifferently.
Beside him was a man with large braids, wearing oriental-style clothing embroidered with phonetic characters. Scratchmen Apoo, another of the Supernovas, said, "Sabaody is getting more and more interesting. First a Marine Admiral shows up, and now two Marine monsters and a legend. Are they trying to capture us all?"
Hawkins replied calmly, "Sending so many people here only shows they're insecure about their own strength."
"Huh?" a voice chimed in from nearby. "Hawkins, Apoo, don't mess with those people. If you provoke them, we'll all suffer."
The speaker was a young woman with long, straight pink hair, dressed in denim shorts and exuding a confident, hot-blooded attitude. She was eating a massive drumstick as she spoke.
This was Jewelry Bonney, another member of the Eleven Supernovas.
Hawkins ignored her warning and strode toward Chiba's group, wanting to feel the presence of these Marines up close and gauge their power.
"Hawkins! Come back here!" Bonney hissed, her eyes filled with anger.
Apoo laughed. "Relax. Those two women are only slightly stronger than Marine Vice Admirals. As for Chiba, despite all the hype, he's supposedly just a researcher."
Bonney glared at him. "Didn't you read the newspaper?"
Apoo shrugged. "Yeah, yeah. It said he defeated Blackbeard's crew with a single punch. But come on, that's just a newspaper exaggerating to sell more copies. Hawkins isn't picking a fight; he just wants to assess their strength. Nothing will happen."
As he spoke, Hawkins had already closed the distance to within ten meters of Chiba's group.
Apoo used his Devil Fruit ability to sense subtle energies, and as he did, he detected three distinct, powerful auras.
The one in the middle was especially overwhelming—majestic like a mountain, unfathomable as the ocean.
Hawkins' expression froze as he tried to maintain his composure. But at that moment, Chiba, Peacock, and Hina all turned to look at him simultaneously.
Chiba smirked. "A Devil Fruit user, huh? Judging by your appearance, you must be Basil Hawkins. Quite bold of you to try and spy on us."
