章節 24: Chapter 24 : Beating Crocodile!

Crocodile's frustration could no longer be contained; his entire body transformed into sand as he lunged forward. His anger was palpable, driving him to teach this old man a lesson. When had he been so infuriated?

Even Admiral Sengoku, or even the Fleet Admiral, wouldn't exhibit such arrogance. As long as no one was killed, there wouldn't be a major issue.

Kahn sneered in response to Crocodile's reaction. "Attacking Navy personnel and assaulting an old man—quite the audacious act. Now even Sengoku cannot scold me. "

With that statement, Kahn tossed the middle-aged man aside. In this moment, whether the man was associated with Baroque Works was irrelevant.

Kahn took a deep breath, summoning powerful fire energy that gathered in his mouth. "The Roar of the Fire Dragon!" he exclaimed.

A robust beam of flames surged forth, directed straight at Crocodile. In a desperate attempt to defend himself, Crocodile converted his body into sand, amassing a significant amount to shield against the attack. However, he underestimated the strength of Kahn's roar.

The intense heat of the flames instantly incinerated the sand Crocodile had gathered for defense. His complexion shifted drastically as he realized his mistake and swiftly dodged the fiery onslaught.

The torrent of flames swept past him, accompanied by a colossal explosion. The sound was deafening, and the impact created strong winds that triggered a sizeable tsunami. Fortunately, the sea levels were relatively low, and the explosion's distance from the town limited the damage caused.

Nonetheless, some seawater surged upward, and though the resulting tsunami eventually subsided, it was clear that the fierce blast had affected the surroundings. Amid the chaos, mist rose and sunlight interacted with the particles in the air to form a magnificent rainbow.

The spectacle left everyone present in awe, particularly the pirates, who were now terrified. Witnessing such a powerful display, they likely realised that avoiding an attack of that magnitude was a stroke of luck.

Crocodile, recovering from the shock, observed Kahn with a mix of fear and anger in his eyes. Kahn stood calmly, unaffected by the events that had transpired.

Crocodile's voice trembled as he spoke, "Are you the Fire Dragon Vice Admiral Kahn who fought against Hawkeye?"

Kahn's tone was nonchalant as he responded, "Well, you seem to be well-informed."

Crocodile quickly concluded that Kahn was the Navy officer who had fought the Warlords of the Sea, particularly Hawkeye. This revelation prompted Crocodile to take a deep breath. "Fire Dragon Kahn, the man who battled the world's greatest swordsman to a standstill. I'm familiar with your name."

"Really? But even so, I'm still going to teach you a lesson. Moreover, you're far from being as skilled as Hawkeye."

Kahn's words once again ignited Crocodile's fury. He was confident in his own strength and abilities, or else he wouldn't have dared to challenge Whitebeard. Crocodile couldn't fathom how this man before him could belittle him so.

The frustration in Crocodile's eyes was evident. "Your words irk me to no end."

"Upset? You'll be even more upset soon."

"Shave!"

In an instant, Kahn vanished from his spot. Before Crocodile could react, Kahn reappeared right in front of him and delivered a forceful kick. Crocodile shifted his arm into a sword of sand, attempting to counter Kahn's attack, but the resulting collision produced a distinct sound of impact.

The clash marked the beginning of their confrontation. However, Crocodile was no match for Kahn's strength at this point.

Kahn found an opening and swiftly sent Crocodile flying with another powerful kick.

Meanwhile, Kahn's impending Roar of the Fire Dragon attack loomed. Crocodile's attempts to evade proved futile this time, resulting in a direct hit by the roaring flames.

A spurt of blood sprayed from Crocodile's mouth as he was propelled away from the town by the force of the impact, leaving him scorched and blackened.

Kahn pursued Crocodile relentlessly, appearing beside him almost instantly. He grabbed Crocodile's face with his right hand and thrust him toward the ground. The resulting collision produced a resounding boom, as Crocodile's head crushed a section of the solid rock.

Kahn remained composed as he wiped the blood from his hands onto Crocodile's black robe. Retrieving a cigar, he placed it in his mouth, ignited it, and took a deep drag. Exhaling a substantial smoke ring, he mused, "Hmm, not bad at all. A post-battle cigarette is even better than a victory."

Sighing, Kahn regarded the defeated Crocodile beneath him with an indifferent expression. "When did a mediocre pirate like you become so audacious in front of me? Your arrogance is an embarrassment."

Crocodile appeared deeply humiliated and coughed up blood in response.

However, his situation further deteriorated as Kahn's attention shifted. "Is endurance your only strength? Or the title of Warlord of the Sea? You're a disgrace to that name. Frankly, I believe the title shouldn't even exist. It's embarrassing to see someone who can't recognize their own weaknesses prancing around."

A solemn voice intervened, "As a Navy officer, you can't kill a Warlord of the Sea."

Kahn's cold gaze focused on the newcomer. His disdainful tone returned as he remarked, "Small talk and excuses. Who would've thought that a trash-tier pirate like this could be so self-assured in front of me?"
