章節 40: Chase
(3rd Person View)
"Full speed ahead!" Starrk ordered, "Why the hell is that asshole still on us?!"
Starrk's ship was trying to escape the whole ambush as the massive black galleon followed behind. The Dragon Knight's vessel was firing its cannons at Starrk's ship as three Navy vessels also followed behind them.
Starrk and his men were trying to evade the attacks by deflecting the cannon balls with their blades and forcing them toward the sea. The explosions of the cannon fire right next to them were still causing massive waves that were disrupting their speed. This made it much more difficult for them to get a good and sizeable gap between them.
Starrk was jumping around, cutting up and deflecting cannon balls by the second. He was starting to get annoyed at how much firepower they had at their disposal.
"Return fire!" Starrk ordered, "Hit them with something!"
"We are!" one of his men exclaimed, "They got us outgunned, though! I don't know how they're doing it but they're hitting our cannonballs with their own!"
Starrk widened his eyes, "What kind of precision these assholes have?!"
"Starrk! These are The Dragon Knight Pirates!" another one told him, "They're super rookies but they've gotten ahold of some crazy weaponry! I hate to say it, but we're at a disadvantage at sea!"
Starrk gritted his teeth, "Dammit!" he growled, "If it weren't for those three marine vessels behind, I would be up to face them head-on!! But we can't afford to lose face here! We have to get some distance to get our shit together and then we hit them with some retribution!! I will not let this asshole tarnish the old man's name!"
His men started to cheer as their morale was rising.
"Yea!!!" they all shouted
Meanwhile, on one of the marine warships that were behind the Dragon Knight, Kuzan stood as he looked through some binoculars.
"Ara ara, this upstart got some crazy weaponry." He said as many of his men were running around the deck, "He's simultaneously firing at that ship and returning fire at us. How haven't we hit him once? It's three navy ships against one. Some crazy techniques he's got."
"Kuzan-san!!" one of the marines ran up to him
"What is it?" He said
"Vice-Admiral Garp is on the line!" he said handing him a snail
"Oh. What is it Garp-san?" He said to the snail
"Oi, Kuzan." Garp's voice was heard through the snail, "Why haven't you gone ahead and frozen the damn ship in place."
"Ah well, the thing is, I don't really feel like it." Kuzan said, "But even if I did, I'm afraid to get hit by a cannonball or something."
"Some Logia user you are." Garp scoffed, "Well, can't be helped. Oh by the way, Sengoku called. He told the other three ships to abort the chase of the Big Mom ships. We're to focus on The Dragon Knight."
"Oh is that so?" Kuzan said as he continued to look through the binoculars, "Wonder what he did to piss the government off."
"Bahahaha! You didn't hear?!" Garp bellowed, "He stole a heavenly tribute! Sunk a couple of government ships too! That's a declaration of war right there! And with the wealth he acquired, he went ahead and got himself some fancy weapons! His ship ain't no joke. It's no pirate ship, that's a damn Warship. A bit more advanced than ours!"
"How is that so, Garp-san?" Kuzan asked, "Who else but the Navy and the Government has access to get better weaponry than us? Other than the Yonko of course."
"Who knows?" Garp replied
"You don't think the old man is involved?" Kuzan asked
"Don't even joke about that." Garp said, "He'll really get in trouble for it. I doubt he's involved. Anyways, if we don't make progress for the next ten minutes, go ahead and do your thing. I don't want to drag this out any longer."
Kuzan nodded, "Roger."
"Oh and be careful." Garp told him, "Try not to involve the whitebeard ship."
"Starrk is on it."
